Do we have vinland saga today?

Anonymous

Last week it was Saturday Late, Sunday Early ... From that I'm presuming it will be tmrw.

Jay Craig

If Vinland was tomorrow I'd have assumed whoever uploaded this would've put it in the description, they usually do. May not be the case. To be fair, this video was due yesterday so it's right they'd upload it first today even if they were also going to upload Vinland as well no?

Devin Crabtree

It's been going back a day every other week it feels like. It used to be Wednesday

Mingo

I’m itching for the vinland reaction, hopefully when i wake up

Farbod

Excited for your takes on season 2. It's a big change from season 1.

Karabo

Ah , welcome to the "Valchek is petty as hell season "

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Look I know a while back I said I didn't really hate any character other than one of them you ladies haven't met yet, but I honestly forgot how horrible Valchek was, lol, and while I wouldn't say that I hate him, he is just all around terrible and self centered.

Also regarding the prison system, the answer is yes, there are different levels of a prison depending on your crime. In most cases you wouldn't put a person in prison for grand theft auto on the same level or the same cell as a serial killer. Avon is not on the same level as D or Weebay I don't think, but he has connections and police on his payroll that he is basically allowed to walk freely and so are his peoples who are in there as well. Like when Weebay went to go visit him, it was a police guard bringing him there, and it was against the rules. He also had another police guard point the police that was bullying Weebay out to him, basically just showing us just how much power he has in there.

I don't really watch the wire reaction but I would say it is disheartening to see the show that they have where the main characters are black is about negative stereotypical situations.

Aj

What are you talking about? Have you not heard about The Wire?

Aj

I'll be honest, I have no sympathy for people like Wee-Bey. I'm not exactly pro police being abusive, but in his case, I can give it a pass.

Sonder

heard about the wire? what is it about the wire? There are things I'm not aware of about the show. This is just my first impression.

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

Some stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason. Like gangs and drugs and police incompetence in a big, majority black city, in the early 2000s, like Baltimore. Same as the stereotypes used for dysfunctional white family on something like Shameless. Just because they’re “bad” or “negative” doesn’t mean they’re not true to life for a lot of people. It’s literally just an inside, realistic view of it. I mean S5, goes a bit haywire, but we’re not there yet lol

Shivering King Banana

@Sonder I wonder if you'd say the same thing if they were watching The Sopranos. Totally a ridiculous take. Look at the character of the characters, instead of just their skin color and the drugs and violence.

Sonder

If someone doesn't have much exposure to a certain demographic and they are only watching shows( not the reactors) like The Wire of that demographic then they can assume to attribute the traits to that demographic. The wire is not an accurate representation of the entirety of the demographic or even just the potential human beings have to achieve from what I've seen. I know there are some good cops in the wire that are not negatively stereotypical but the majority seems to be the opposite.

Shivering King Banana

And if you watch training day you'd think only half the cops are bad. If you watch that movie Bright about orcs in the real world you'd think half the cops are orcs. I gotta say the representation of police being what you're upset about was a bit of a curve ball though.

Jimmy doesn’t give a fuck, he just want to prove he’s smarter than everyone else lol

I will say the wire is one of the most important shows for black representation. We have multiple queer black characters who aren’t stereotypes, teachers, lawyers, mayors, police commissioners etc and the writers room was constantly filled with people of color including people who have struggled through poverty or lived as black Americans working law or education Also the show showcases the numerous ways America fails poor black Americans. The characters who engage in crimes are shown as victims of the system for the most part and shown in an a sympathetic light. The show illustrates that people who use drugs and commit crimes are actual human people It’s one of the greatest shows of all time because it illustrates how a city works on every level (each season adds a new layer to the city of Baltimore with season 2 being about unions and blue collar workers who are screwed over by an uncaring city) I think the show should be shown in Highschools across America, one of the most important and relevant works of fiction produced in the 21st century I do understand that a lot of shows and media in general depict black americans in a negative light so I see why you said what you said, encourage you to read this article, outlines the shows importance in its accurate depiction of American society and systemic racism https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20211015-why-the-wire-is-the-greatest-tv-series-of-the-21st-century

For real, can’t agree more… but gotta say he’s one of my all tiem fav asshole characters 😅 Love how shows like The Wire and Succession really show the harsh reality that so many huge decisions that impact people’s lives are made by shitty people being petty

They're not people, they are animals. They kill innocents and people are crying that COs or cops treat them like shit? wtf lmao. defending violent criminals. amazing.
