Wallace saying how seeing Brandon like that fucks him up is so heartbreaking, and the only thing Dee can say is "just let it go" because he himself is trying to do just that, that's the only way he knows how to deal with it, just not think about it... damn this is depressing

The photograph on the right side, that is Wee-bey

ODIS

You wanted pictures without spoilers, so here you go: Wee-bey: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/Wee-Bey_Brice.jpg We've seen him in many scenes, including the first episode when he drove Dee to the club and told him not to talk in the car about sensitive matters. Stinkum: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/thewire/images/7/71/Stinkum.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1200?cb=20200321184121 He was there in the low rises with Avon this episode handing money to Wallace for helping catch Omar's friend. Couldn't find a good pic of Bird, but you'll see him again soon enough. Also, Freamon IS the name of the guy who makes miniatures.

Those kids aren't all siblings. They are just kids from broken homes that would be in foster care if not for Wallace taking care of them.

You hit the nail on the head when you noticed they skipped over Brandon's torture. I think the writers of this show would be bored with such a scene. As if they only have so many allotted minutes and damn if they aren't going to spend every one of them exploring character development.

Freamon's line, "All the pieces matter", while being a good description for the whole show, is also the name of a really good book written about the making of the show where they interview a ton of the actors and writers involved in it. The fact that everything we see matters is what makes this show such a good watch, even over 20 years after it first aired.

Posted this in the YT comments too I know this show probably won't get you huge views, while being extremely highly praised The Wire is not the sort of show that get massive mainstream appeal unfortunately. It's so focused on the characters and letting the story play out and not at all on the sort of action you might normally expect from a tv show. When there is violence it's usually short and dirty like it is in reality and if it's not necessary to show like with Brandon's death in this episode they don't. The aftermath speaks for itself. Just a wonderfully written, directed and acted show and I hope you guys keep enjoying it, loving the reactions so far!!

For real… like if only Dee could just be vulnerable and share with Wallace, help get him out of the life
