Very good episode but to answer your question without going into too much detail killua has several siblings. And illumi is an interesting character but he’s basically hisoka without the fun. Probably why they are companions which we saw a few episodes back in the previous trial.

Some people dont get the signficance of killua surrendering to Illumi. Illumi said if you fight me or I will kill Gon.

By surrendering, killua essentially was not good enough for Gon because he couldnt risk his life to save Gon. This affects him deeply for a long time
