Lol it's so interesting, I've seen multiple reactors think that was Einar at first but the thought never even crossed my mind. I thought he looks somewhat similar but the voice sounds completely different to me.

My favorite scene from this episode was that little bit of seeing Thorfinn laughing, it felt like seeing the kid Thorfinn again before he snuck off on the boat so long ago😭. TBH Vinland has been creeping into my one of my favs like AOT, one piece and fullmetal.

Oh man seeing Thorfinn laugh, and having a "normal" life gives me great satisfaction. It probably won't last very long, but we love to see it.

Snake isnt related to ketil hes just the boss of the farm security he just calls sverkel gramps as an affectionate/teasing thing

Yep! Consider that before the invention of printing, books were transcribed by hand and were extremely rare and expensive. The value of a book like Sverkel's could be equivalent to what for us is an ultra-luxury car

Not sure if this was sarcasm or a joke, but I think Snake actually likes reading it himself. Since episode 3 we've seen him asleep with the book on his face, or actively reading it by himself throughout season 2. Maybe it's just because it reminds him of Gramps, because he clearly has affection for him, but I think some of it was reaching him a bit.

Yes, they had to be handwritten and illuminated by monks. What's more interesting is that, at that time, this bible would've been written in Latin and both Sverkel and Snake are able to read and understand it. Thorfinn too. Has to be a little historic inconsistency for the sake of the plot. No viewer would mind.
