Sorry for leaving you all hanging for so long! I kept on wanting to post an update but wanted a good amount of cool stuff to show before I did! Development on Cave Game (I think the actual title of the game will be "Family Vacation" but I'm still not 100% certain) has been going well, I've recently been struck by a lot more inspiration for the writing/plot/lore of the game which has felt good. My goal is now to try to have the game ready by the end of October as a Halloween treat, and with how I have been working I feel like that is not too bold a projection as I usually make! 😬

I think I would like to write a little bit about the plot/lore/inspiration so if you want to go into the game completely blind, please feel free to skip this section and just look at the lovely gifs, however I am also going to try to be as vague as possible in the interest of not revealing everything.

So the game starts with what you might have seen on the various gifs: the player character walking through the woods/jungle and going into a cave. BUT WHY? Well, the player character wants to access a secret site owned by a shadowy extra-legal corporation. For legal and morally expedient reasons, the location of the site the player character is trying to access is far from where they came from. The corporation's work was greatly inspired by Soviet era radio-wave-to-brain-wave experiments, as well as various declassified CIA projects during the 60s and 70s. After the Cold War this corporation quietly siphoned up the talent behind these projects and put them to work in the private sector. For reasons that will be elucidated in the game, the player character needs to use their services for personal reasons.

That was pretty vague! If I think of any more lore-type stuff I can divulge without spoiling anything I think is important I will try to include it in a future post.

As always I thank you all so much for your patronage! It means a lot to me!!!
