To answer a bit of your question Morgan, when the camera cuts to Keith after Eren says "I'm just the son of a special man, nothing more" its mean to imply that Keith is realizing, that Eren is thinking just like he did. IE i'm not special so i will never accomplish anythig. And thats why Keith then tells him about what Carla said, about how it doesnt matter and hes already special, just by being born. So yeah its a momemt that is meant to imply Keith identifies with Eren there, not that hes like his dad or something lol. But idc i love your theories Morg! Keep thereorizing i love it xD

Eren gets it from his mother his ideology, " because I was born into this world "This quote was first mentioned i think in s1 battle of trost , this world is my birthright , right to live life dignified(not being attacked,warred,persecuted,caged) I think he possibly heard it first here or sometime young and it was a catalyst to reinforce his belief Looks like an innocent sweet quote here but later on comes something else entirely still tells more about Eren in s4 part 3

I have a suspicion that Eren constantly heard that kind of stuff from his mother growing up. I love the idea of a loving, devoted, and totally unassuming character like Carla's philosophy on life ending up being the inspiration for... well, everything.

@Starslightskye I feel like Keith eventually ended up accepting that no one is special in a "chosen one" kind of way-- but like Eren says in the season finally of the first half of season 3: everyone is unique specifically for times like these. No one is special, because everyone is. Whatever their abilities, people just gotta do what they can. I think Keith saw an opportunity to finally contribute and he just took that shit. He must have realized Carla was right in the end-- like, what she could do was be a mother and barkeep-- no shame in that, she clearly left an impression on everyone around her. That much is obvious from just looking at Eren's motivation.
