Hey hey, Patrons!

We're back and a' Witchin' around town again! This season, which has been quite strong, gets even stronger with a stronger sense of the drama within the world and some familiar faces!

We got Jaskier back with a capital "T" TERRIBLE wig and a song that is not quite as big of a banger but hot dang it is good to see him again!

There's some super heavy and intense strife that the Elves are getting put into that is distressing but ultimately good for the show as now we're more engaged in the political elements of this world than we ever have been before!

And we're any of you afraid that Vesemir was going to go after Ciri to make more Witchers!?!

We got Korra dropping later and our Oops! All Batman! version of BvE poll dropping today as well!

God I love how they introduce Dijkstra. It just works so well for him. The mystery and intrigue combined with the political machinations are one of my favorite parts of these shows.

I listened to Jaskier's song in the dub of several other languages, and some of them were better than the original english one. Like, one of them almost made me cry and I didn't even understand the language.

Yeah Nilfgard does kinda come off as better that most of the Northern Kingdoms since they arent you know, horribly killing elves everyday. That doesnt mean they like them either, but they think the conflict between the northerners and elfs serves their goals so they actually go out of their way to support the elves and weaken the north. The mages support the north because they have a lot of control and sway over those kingdoms, whreas the Nilfgards kicked them out because they dont trust them. So its not really a story of the good guys vs the bad guys, as all the kingdoms here have their own problems, they are more or less fighting for their own interests really, its not a very noble hero thing at all. Nilfgard just comes up as the greater bad because they are imperialistic. Its not that their rule is particularly worse that any of the north kingdoms really, its just the empire part that makes them bad. In universe though they are never the main bad guy either. They are just sorta there in the background for the most part, especially when the wild hunt comes into the picture.

but you are right sean in that its a problem of the show to not really explain or show this very well. the books and games do, but in here they really stumbled on that whole storyline. maybe by season 3 they'll get better at it. but i have a problem with this show because its always feeling like its just getting its footing and "getting better" but never quite getting there :/
