Ket's Update:

Hey guys. Thank you for playing our latest build with the first playable version of Bates! It has its share of bugs and I’m working hard to get them all resolved. I’ve already fixed issues with Bates’s movements (going off screen, etc.), as well as resolving other critical bugs unrelated to Bates.

However, I’m still having some issues with Bates’s AI where he will get stuck and stop responding due to certain interactions with Joe (e.g. butt stomp). To put it bluntly, the code is doing something I’ve never encountered before, so it will take more time for me to understand it. It will also require me to make changes to some attack code that is common to all enemies in the game. I didn’t want to work on this without additional time to make sure everything is fully tested.

In regards to a bug fix build, I had planned to release one today, but I didn’t want to do this until the Bates AI bug was fixed, because I feel it is most important to have an uninterrupted battle with Bates for the next build. For those unaware, it takes me about six hours across three different computers to make a build for all of the platforms and get it posted for everyone. I automate as much as possible but sometimes stuff just doesn’t work and has to be manually fixed. I prefer using my time for development as much as possible, which is why we don’t make builds as often.

That said, I am aiming to have this all done by the 18th, depending on my success with squashing this bug and ensuring the game is properly tested. Thanks for your patience! =}
