Oh So Hero! Dev Preview #24 (UPDATED) (Patreon)

UPDATED 2023-10-05: ADDED 4 NEW ANIMATIONS at the end of the list!

This development preview will give you a look into new features coming to Oh So Hero!

The game's two developers, Ket & Red, comprise the programming and art/animation sides, respectively.

Here are their updates!

Ket's Update:

I know everyone’s hungry for Bates, the dragon boss. We are in the home stretch of getting him completed!

While Red works on Bates’ animations, I’m directing the team to finish modeling and detailing Lood City Park, the new environment where Joe’s showdown with Bates will occur. We also have a couple new animated NPCs that we plan to include in an upcoming build!

In regards to recent game development news, Oh So Hero is built using the Unity engine, and we have been following the news of Unity’s pricing changes from their original announcement to their current iteration. We are unhappy with this whole fiasco, but the good news is that these changes will not impact development of Oh So Hero. For now, we will continue to use Unity, but we will also learn more about the free open-source Godot engine for potential future use.

Red's Update:

Hey guys I'm sorry for taking so long on those animations. I'm still in the process of finishing the final battle assets of Bates. Unfortunately this month has kinda sucked for me, and Ket is kinda stuck waiting on assets from me, so I apologize doubly for that. I feel pretty bad about it all but I am pushing onwards.

There is a bit of logic I had to rework with some of the animations but all the clips are coming along nicely together. Expect some more previews Tuesday and in the coming weeks (especially the cutscene stuff you guys haven't seen a lot of yet).
