This development preview will give you a look into new features coming to Oh So Hero!

The game's two developers, Ket & Red, comprise the programming and art/animation sides, respectively.

Here are their updates!

Ket's Update:

Hi everyone! Our first build of 2023, tentatively versioned 0.19, is scheduled for the end of February. I have been largely occupied with personnel and technical advancements during the month of January. I’m only going to touch on these briefly, but feel free to comment if you have questions.

We sent a Skill Survey to everyone who had previously filled out the Contributor Application. We know there are a lot of you who want to contribute, and we’re truly grateful for your interest, but the work we need done requires advanced skill sets typically associated with professionals. This is how we are able to maintain a high standard of quality in the game. If you feel you’re the right fit for this, please fill out the survey. I plan to respond to all surveys by the end of February.

We’ve decided to transition Trooper from 2D Animation to 3D Modeling and Texturing. Red will handle animations as usual, while Trooper helps us build the environments and objects we need to make progress on level design and gameplay development. Trooper has shown great interest in 3D, and his work is very solid, so I’m confident this is the right fit.

I made significant progress on the work needed to get Oh So Hero on Android, but there are touch control issues that need fixing before I can even test the game properly. I knew this wasn’t gonna be easy, but I will keep hammering away until we get it running!

I know some of you are unable to run the game on Mac, specifically those with M1 / Apple silicon devices, and I’m truly sorry about this. I’m still doing research on possible solutions, but this may require a full Unity upgrade and purchase of new hardware, so I can’t promise anything soon.

I have additional work done and in progress for level design and VFX that I will show off as soon as we get everything wrapped up. I also want to start laying the foundation for localization, so all you translators will be of great importance to us later this year!

Thanks for sticking with us and supporting us. We tend to be quiet, but we’re always making progress and thinking of the best ways to move development forward. Cheers~

Red's Update:

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well. Got some Bates attack previews I wanna share with y’all.

Rampage attack. At a later stage of the battle, Bates will sometimes end this move early to cancel into another attack.

Flame beam variations.

We will be showing off the more lewd Bates previews mid-February. The next build will be released at the end of February.
