(FAQ2) Patreon Reward Frequently Asked Questions (Patreon)

Hi everyone! Ket here~ We plan to have an art and development update for you by the end of this month (11/30). In the meantime, we have a lot of new people who weren't around from the beginning, so I want to answer a few questions I have been getting about the Patreon tiers and rewards.

1. What are the $2 rewards?

Discord server access and a monthly patreon post with news that sometimes contains art, such as animations or still images. To access Discord, please see the Patreon FAQ [#1].

2. Can I join the $5 tier?

No. Sorry. The $5 tier is a retired tier only available to those who had a pledge at the start of 2022. This is our way of thanking those who were early with a limited time discount.

But don't miss out! You can still get the same rewards for pledging $7. Once we approach completion of Bates (v0.20), we plan to phase out the $5 tier in favor of the $7 tier, so everyone will be in the same boat.

3. What are the $5/$7 rewards?

For either $5 or $7, in addition to getting the rewards from the $2 tier, you'll receive a monthly upgrade of Oh So Hero! in the form of a new build (version) of the game. Each month typically alternates between a build with new animations/content and a build with technical improvements. We will make a post whenever a build is ready, and yes, it includes both Windows and Mac.

4. What are the $10 rewards?

The $10 rewards are identical to the $5/$7 rewards, but with an added feature: eligibility to be included in the credits of the game (at your request). However, I want to clarify something about this reward. It is actually based on a $10 minimum "lifetime pledge amount" (what Patreon calls your cumulative donation total).

This means you only need to pledge at this tier for one month to be included in the credits. Of course, you don't have to use this tier. You can alternatively pledge at the $7 tier for two months ($7 + $7 > $10). We'll consider simplifying this when v0.20 rolls around. For more details, see the Patreon FAQ [#7].

5. Is there a lifetime tier?

No. Sorry. There was never a lifetime tier. Poor wording on my part about the "lifetime pledge amount" on the $10 tier caused some confusion. However, there is one lifetime reward available, which is inclusion in the credits. Question 4 and the Patreon FAQ explain this in detail.

6. If I drop my pledge, will I lose my rewards?

Yes, with the exception of the credits reward (see questions 4 & 5).

7. You missed a month. What happened?

We always strive to provide new content on a monthly schedule, but we occasionally slip off track due to health issues, personal emergencies, or simply protracted development. We are too small of a team to always be at 100%. All we can do is apologize and continue working. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
