Hey everyone,

This week I made a... jailcell :) And that's because this is where Keen will eventually meet the spooky girl I introduced in my previous posts.

Now of course Keen thinks she’s being held captive here. But it’s not what it seems. Her species simply comes from a dark planet, and so she prefers to stay in the dark. And this dark jailcell in the corner of the basement... is where she feels most comfortable.

Well- that makes sense right :)  But the real question is of course, why is she here? ...Well, that’s a story for a another time!

But in the meantime, let me show you how I drew this jailcell.  Here is a Gif of the steps I took while drawing.

Now as usual, I cut up the final image again. And I made it so, that I can now open the door, and open the cell.  But I also made an effect that will show a pulsating light over the background. This is to empasize that the spooky girls emits a bit of light herself. Here you can see simplified animation of that light.

Other news

Well, and then there is some other news!  And that is that I am currently colaborating with a new programmer again, who is coding some of the the mini-games I designed earlier. There isn't  much to show yet in that regard, but the bondage game for Rosa her storyline is now working, as well a game where you have to trim down a plant in Sophie her story. And if time allows, I will add those  to the next update as well :)

And that’s all the news I have for now. I hope you like new art, and till next time again!

All the best.

Love seeing the designs! I was slightly surprised to see metal bars instead of the "energy field" type of jail cell -- but I suppose that's just Star Trek having too much influence on me. :-) This works, and looks better. Plus, the "tech level" in Keen's SF universe has already been shown as different than in Star Trek (slightly closer to our own), so it all works. Less light also helps keep your "spooky vibe" going better anyway. As for the mini-games, I have to confess, I generally suck at minigames in most games, for some reason, so I'll be the person hitting the "skip" button on those, most likely. I do appreciate the work you and your crew put into them, I'm just not very good at minigames in general. I love the spooky vibe of this whole part of the Keen story -- I look forward to seeing how it all plays out. Thanks to you and yours. Be well!

Really love your background designs

Thank you again Dacer! And yes, no forcefield here :) I like to keep things a bit clunky in Keens universe. I guess in that regard it's a bit more like the Thunderbirds-tech; which is a series I also love a lot. And I know the mini-games are not for everyone, so please feel free to skip them :) But from a gamedesign standpoint I feel need to add them, so when you overcome them, the reward will be sweeter :) ...and I personally like minigames a lot of course. I've played a lot on those old arcade machine in my youth, I guess that's where it started? Well- have a great weekend! All the best, Robin
