Hey Everyone!

One of the next stories in Space Rescue will be a spooky one! And this story will take place in the ‘maintenance tunnels’ of the ship.

Now previously I already  showed you a bit of the tunnels itself, but lately I've also been making  art for the entrance to the tunnels. And this is what I have so far :)

The tunnels entrance

Now what you see here are actually 5 screens in one image. You enter the room at the top of the stairs. And from there you can walk down to the cellar. And then on the left you will find the actual entrance to the maintenance tunnels.

Now the reason Keen goes in there eventually, is because the helping hands that maintain the tunnels suddenly went offline. Who-oOOoooOO...what could have happend?  Well, I won't spoil the surprise yet-that's for later :)

But long before that, you will also get the oppertunity to explore the cellar itself.  Here you will find things like a copy machine, washing machine.  Oh, and  an elevator, which will play a big part in yet another story!

Making the room

Well, after making the sketch-  the next step would be to detail all these screens.  And for that, I was lucky to get some help from Marlies again.  She worked on the 3 screens at the bottom of the sketch, and this is what she made :)

Now, the fact that Marlies helps me out like this, is a huge timesaver for me! Of course I still need to refine this image some more, but it's 90% done I would say.

And the best thing is, that I can also re-use parts of this image to create the other cellar-screens (at the top of the sketch). For example the staircase is a separate part here, and can be copied around to create the rest of it. So, that's pretty cool!

Preperations

Now outsourcing work can be  great. But to make it work, you really have be very clear about what you need.   So therefore I always put a lot of time in preparing my photoshop files. Of course the sketch needs to be readable, and the file needs to be the right size and all; but apart from that I also add  detailed references  and notes to it.

Now to give you an idea of how that looks; this is some of what I added on top of my sketch, before sending it to Marlies:

Now the benifit of such preperations is that there is no additional discussion needed when Marlies makes the art; and the reults are always great :)

Next

Well, and that's as far as I got with this part of the game.  Now as you know, starting tomorrow I will be taking a break -and pause patreon for a month (This means you won't be charged in November & still keep acces to everything as usual).

But after the break I will continue refining this area- and hopefully I can then add it to the next game release.  Which means you will then have about a dozen new screens to explore!

Well I hope you like the sketch!

All the best & see you soon again :)

Hey! If you are asking if the game is on Steam, then the answer is yes :) But the art that I posted here is not in game yet. All the best! Robin

Dacer

Hey, Robin, it's November! Aren't you supposed to be on vacation? Tsk. Tsk. Go have some fun already! :-) But more seriously, the "pre-production" artwork looks lovely, as always. I'm curious to see what it transforms into for release. Now, go have some fun! That's an order!

Haha, thank you Dacer! I had a lot of fun on my vacation. I've been to Tokyo for a few weeks and got a lot of inspiration there. So no I can't wait to get going again! :)
