Thanks for the reaction! very excited for this one. In the future if you ever want to explore other amazing anime adaptions, the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies are in my opinion the best live action anime adaptions and have incredible choreography. The actor for Zoro is actually in them too

Dodging the knowledge of Luffy beeing a rubberman for 25 years is wild. You will have a blast. The show is kind of close to the source material, but it changes up things to be better adaptable as a live action format.

I think they did a really good job merging arcs so it fits to these seasonal series better. But besides that… it was alright. I appreciate the efforts tho

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. Jumping on the hype train makes total sense for a reaction channel, I won't deny that - it brings you views & traffic, it stops the daily / hourly show request comments from people who insist you watch the newest popular thing (at least until next time), and it makes a lot of people happy. You've mentioned that every option in the "OUR BIGGEST POLL!" poll is an anime you're interested in watching some day, so you'll at least get to dip your toes in the One Piece waters now (13% RIP). Oh, and I've heard good things about the live action series, which honestly shocked me (live action shonen doesn't have the best track record), so it sounds like you're in for a good time. 🙂 The reason(s) I have mixed feelings about this news is because, again, One Piece came in dead last on your poll. I haven't seen the live action series yet, so it'd be unfair of me to praise or critique, but I'm sad to know you won't be going on the same One Piece journey I grew up with. The series means a lot to me (kinda like Ange and DBZ), so knowing that you won't be blind if / when you react to the anime's East Blue Saga kinda breaks my heart. I know the author gave the show his blessing, but this is a different introduction to One Piece. For better or worse (and I can see arguments for both). Contrary to my rant, I really do hope you enjoy the live action series. Again, I haven't seen it yet, but when that day comes, I'll be excited to watch it again with you guys. Please be careful of anime + manga spoilers (especially on YouTube). As you're well aware, fans can sometimes inadvertently reveal more than they should about the shows they love. I'd hate to see someone explaining what the live action leaves out if you still plan on watching the anime eventually.

This is exciting!!! I was one of those people who said they’d never watch one piece cause of the length but I finally did and just recently caught up and I have to say this might be my favorite anime of all time!! I enjoyed the live action as well too!! Hopefully in the future well see the anime on here!!

Wooooooh! One Piece Live Action let's goooo! The trailer for this was so good it made me start the anime. So I finished 45 episodes before the live action released and it is amazing how much they stuck to the original! But also I like the small changes that were made to accommodate live action while still retaining the heart of the manga/show! Also all the actors are absolutely amazing! Luffy's actor is so good as him! So are all the others! Also One Piece is very friendship focused show so no ships between the crew.

keep watching the live then start the anime even if its on your on time no other anime like it their is a reason it has gone on for over 1k episodes

Awesome to see both of you start this! I started OP back in the early 2000s and I think it's an excellent jumping point for the series. It's a bit abbreviated but it does a good job covering everything that is truly needed and is on point with casting, costumes, set design and its script. Hope you enjoy it!

anime is good if not for the boring, repetitive flashbacks/dialogues. It even takes couple of episode just to finish a simple damn conversation

The characters are very diverse in clothes, the anime is going very hard on goofy designs etc. there is no real time period, If you think one piece is to long you can watch one pace, its basically a fan project that edits the anime episodes and cutsout all the filler into a more condence story https://onepace.net/watch
