I groaned aloud with Alyx and Anya looking over at me with concern so I just took a breath and said. "I am not happy that Toji did that. But that just means I need to train to be able to fight sooner I guess." 

Toji's announcement threw all my plans at leaving a more relaxed life as I collected information and slowly learned how throw hands and jump people JJK style out the window. Which meant that it was time to put my nose to the grindstone.

But regardless Alyx who was now looking rather sheepish said slowly. "Why do you think Toji did that though? I mean why announce that you are working here?" 

I pursed my lips at that good question before I shrugged and said evenly. "I don't know. And asking him won't do anything as he will probably blow me off... But if I had to guess, I think he probably has some kind of plan to use me for bait."

Blowing out some air I realized there would be no news about people's reactions for a good while anyway so I decided to get my nose to the grindstone now. As of right now I had two main cheats under my belt having the standard enhanced body that could use any energy source I could get my grubby hands on. While also having the Thuum downloaded into my head along with a talent in martial arts.

"So Alyx, what is some good fighting or martial arts anime?" I asked making her blink in confusion.

She put a finger to her lips cutely and then said. "Uhm... Me and Anya don't watch anime, that was more of Alicia's thing..." As she finished I saw a dull hollow look enter her eyes but she gave a fake smile as I realized that Alicia was almost certainly the dead triplet's name. 

"But I would be willing to watch anime with you if you want!" Alyx said trying to sound more excited as she pumped up her fists as though to show how excited she was at the thought.

I gave a small smile at how she tried to clear out her mind and I said. "Sure if you want to, I would like that. But I am just looking for a 'cool' fighting style to find out what I like to get lessons on." 

She giggled at that with her chuckles continuing even as she said. "You can't learn how to fight just by watching anime!"

And at that, I raised an eyebrow before I hummed and shrugged before saying. "Well, a man can try haha." I finished with a small laugh. While internally I was having other thoughts.

'I am going to use the Thu-Um to force up the memories I have of Kengan Ashura. That anime has the most accurate martial arts styles and fighting styles.' I thought as I knew that with the Thu-Um I could do damn near anything... If I could take the physical strain of doing so.

And just refreshing my mind of something shouldn't be that difficult.

My thoughts however were broken up by Anya calling out from the kitchen. "Jake, do you want your chicken with BBQ, or to have it with some light alfredo pasta?" 

I nodded with a smile as my mind went 'yum' at the thought so I said. "Yeah, Alfredo would be nice." 

The red-haired beauty then popped back into the kitchen to throw the pasta in a pressure cooker to cook it real quick and while she was doing that. Alyx spoke up excitedly. "So do you like art Jake? I have actually been doing a lot of commissioned online art for the last couple of years!"

'Huh, that wasn't in her folder?' I thought before shrugging and saying wryly. "I mean I can do a bit of sculpting but reading is more of my favorite thing to do in my free time," I answered frankly making Alyx look at me with a weird expression.

And then Anya from the kitchen chuckled at her calling out. "Alyx hates reading! She actually had to go to summer school for two years!" She finished with some mischievous teasing in her voice.

"Anya!" Alyx screamed out in embarrassment with a flush crossing her face that made me chuckle before I went back to my phone and tried to look up some stuff. 

As I was trying to discretely find Makima. But without... Like typing out something stupid like. 'Makima the control devil boobs.' 

No, I began first by searching the Devil Hunter's Association and their higher-ups as I knew that with Makima being the Control Devil, she would be one of those higher-ups.

But... Nothing, I even searched up the Hunter's Guild and still nothing after ten minutes of searching up the names of the higher-ups in both organizations I found no one in the public records that sounded like her name. Or when I looked up all their names to find their socials that to find if anyone looked like Makima.

'Where the fuck is she?' I muttered mentally before shaking my head as I dropped my phone to look over at Alyx who had gone back to her own phone scrolling adventure.

A few minutes later Anya brought over the food and I dug into the well-cooked juicy chicken that was shredded up and added to the alfredo sauce and noodles. "Is it good?" Anya asked with some hope in her voice and I nodded with a wide smile.

"Yes, it is very good! You are hired haha." I joked lightly making her smile slightly but roll her eyes at my goofy answer.

Anya then turned to Alyx and wearing a mischievous smile she said plainly. "Good, now Alyx you can enjoy doing dishes while I unpack into my bedroom."

Alyx gave her sister a look of betrayal but just rolled her eyes in acceptance as she knew that doing the dishes was fair in recompense for her sister in cooking the meal. 

Once I finished my food I gave a small grunt as I stood up and stretched. "Alright girls, you can do what you want just give me a bit of space to take a shower and relax in meditation for the next hour please." 

Anya nodded understandingly while Alyx pouted and asked with something akin to a whine in her voice. "Is it a jujutsu kind of thing?" 

I nodded in agreement to her question with her pout lessening as she understood that if I was so special as a Special Grade support unit basically. That I probably needed some time to handle my technique or whatever.

So I said my farewells to my 'roommates?' I wasn't sure exactly what to call them as of yet but either way I headed off to the master bedroom which was mine as it had its own attached bathroom.

"Alright... So what would be the best words in the Th-Um to bring back memories and make them more stable in my mind." I muttered as I tried to come up with a smaller sentence so it wouldn't be so straining on my body and mind.

After a bit I inhaled as I called upon my will as I laid down and I spoke in the voice of dragons that made my apartment shudder slightly. {Dova Hahnu Wundun} 

I felt my Dovazhul forcing my body into sleep and even as I felt it I kept the idea of Kengan Ashura at the forefront of my mind as I had spoke the words that basically translated into 'Walking through the path of dreams.'
