I try not to let my own way of speaking creep into the dialog too much if I can help it. I'm not always successful, as especially in the visual novel I've struggled with different characters sharing my vernacular and using phrases that sound more like me than them. The only time I don't bother trying to differentiate is when I'm writing the two nerds here. The exact words I would use myself seem to fit them just...just right, for some reason. Sigh.
