Hey everyone, just a quick post about a new feature available in the upcoming patch. When monsters were born previously, their moves would be species specific. This has been changed to allow them to learn moves randomly from either parent, and since any species can have offspring with any other species now, this allows for some pretty crazy theorycrafting when breeding.

For example, a yellow slime with Lightning Bolt in it's moveset could breed with a Harpy, and even if the offspring is Harpy there is still a 50% chance for them to know Lightning Bolt. This is true for every species and every move, so with some planning and a little luck you could create pretty devastating movesets for your new monsters.

There is one consideration when taking advantage of this feature, a Birthmove is not technically learned. Meaning it is not added to the monsters "Known Moves" list, so if it is swapped out, the move is forgotten. This prevents players from stacking movesets, swapping moves out, and breeding systematically to make a monster with every move in the game.
