Maybe it's just me, but the shot of Vera Farmiga walking past Matt Damon without a word is so reminiscent to me of the final shot of The Third Man. Which is one of my favorite moments in cinema. Incidentally, probably not quite popular enough a classic for these two, but I wish they could do that one.

Random movie suggestion that just came to me watching this now. Up in the Air (2009). Has George Clooney and Vera Farmiga, and its kind of hard to classify as a movie. Its genre is Drama/Romance, but its got a lot to it. Its really good actually, and deals with a lot of different themes. I'd highly recommend it. Also, if you really wanna see Jack Nicholson in a totally different sort of role, and also a really young Jack Nicholson, you really need to pencil in both Easy Rider and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Both highly, highly culturally significant movies, and also both really really good.

They honestly should have suspected Matt Damon when he shut off the camera when he went in to pretend to be that guy’s lawyer. It was just so his men couldn’t see him while he told the other man to warn Costello. That should have been a major tip off. Why prevent your men from seeing your interaction?

Scorsese had never worked with Pacino when making The Departed in 2006. In 2019, Scorsese’s The Irishman they finally worked together when Pacino played Jimmy Hoffa.
