Breaking Bad: Season 3 - Episode 12 -13 - Patreon Exclusive

Comments

Charley matthews

I really hope you guys do 4+5 back to back. It’ll be stressful but the wait between Series 4+5 will be brutal.

Ph4ZeD

Great stuff as always Simone and George, would you be able to share the “strategy” once Breaking Bad/Ted Lasso seasons are done? Personally I think the alternating two shows is a great way to do it. Im sure you will find people demanding Better Call Saul as a follow up but it would be nice to alternate that with something different (The Pacific? True Detective season 4? ;))

Jay Davis

Season 3 of The Wire WHEN?!?! Oh... wait.

Anonymous

Agreed. Although I think the wait between seasons 3 and 4 is even worse haha. They’re such companion seasons. I do understand why they may not be able to though; they can’t dedicate their entire channel to one group of people and ignore everyone else. But one can dream haha ;)

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Last 2 mins of “Half-Measures” are what firmly set this show as one of the all time TV greats. Just great writing that you don’t notice but when you think back is all there in the setup. Also glad to hear y’all are looking to do another poll for some additional tv stuff too :)

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Just saying, Fargo seasons are connected to each other, kind of, but can be watched as stand alone stories too. Also, Andor is a show I haven't seen but I've heard is great, just one season so far.

ra ra rasputin

i love this show but S3 of TL is what, 10 episodes? a month is easy compared to the year and a half people had to wait for the actual season 4 to come out. 1 episode per week at the time. we just got spoiled on here lmao.

JediLounger

So something that would be great to drop between seasons of Breaking bad or the next big show would be The Brothers Sun (2024). I just finished it yesterday. Would love to see what you guys think of it. 8 eps, on Netflix.

djKENTO

Glad to hear you’re onto some new shows in the future. For a one shot I wanna throw out a wild recommendation that came to me after Lost in Translation. It’s an anime called ODD TAXI. It’s a really hard pitch but let me try… What if a Tarantino fan made an incredibly well written and sharp witted drama about lonely people seemingly disconnected in the crowded loneliness that comes with living in Tokyo… but they’re all cute animals. I know that sounds wild but TRUST ME it is one of the best written shows with an aesthetic that feels off but it all just works. It’s also short and would only take a few weeks if you did like 3 eps a week since they’re 20 minutes each.

Meth Damon

Painkiller (2023) mini series

Happy Hanukkah

Hi, my name is Happy Hanukkah and I've time-traveled all the way back from next week to try to fix something that seems to have gone terribly wrong: we find ourselves sadly and shockingly bereft of reactions for the fourth season of Breaking Bad. What could possibly have gone wrong?

Martin

Been waiting for Episode 12. “Half Measures” is one of the legendary episodes in this series.

Happy Hanukkah

Suggestions for new TV shows: 1. If we're already going big: the classic sci-fi show Babylon 5 (5 seasons * 22 episodes). (You could de-biggen it by skipping two seasons.) 2. For smaller, one or more English comedies: (i) Fawlty Towers (1970s, 2 * 6 eps), starring John Cleese (of Monty Python fame) (ii) Blackadder (1980s, roughly 4 * 6 eps), starring Rowan Atkinson (iii) Coupling (2000s, 4 seasons totaling 28 eps). Often described as "Like 'Friends,' but funny." :-)

Will Sofer

If I can suggest a show: "Fringe". Probably one of the best television shows I've ever seen, along with more well-known shows like Breaking Bad. It's epic. And I know you both would dig the story, and the actors. Has Anna Torv ("The Last of Us"), John Noble ("The Lord of the Rings"), etc. I wasn't a fan of John Noble's character in Lord of the Rings, but his character in Fringe is probably my favorite in all of television. He kills it.

Jeff K

Couple possibilities for a Lasso replacement: Shrinking, one season show (so far) that was created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, and Brett “Roy Kent” Goldstein and stars Segel and Harrison Ford. Another could be The Good Place, which absolutely would fill the same feel good comedy vibe of Lasso and is, IMO, one of most perfect sitcoms ever made, start to finish. Four seasons, but they’re fairly short seasons (all 13 episodes except for season four, which has 14), and they’re all about 22 minute episodes so you could fly through it pretty quickly.

PIG

I love the thumbnail screenshots where George and Simone are just sitting there randomly. They just don’t know what’s in store for them these next two episodes.

Jay Davis

I was just thinking the other day about suggesting Fawlty Towers and Blackadder. So I definitely agree here!

Charley matthews

Yeah that’s fair, I’m only suggesting it because they did the last two seasons of The Wire back to back, so I know they’re not against it.

ra ra rasputin

yeaaaah and if i recall there were a loooot of people throwing tantrums about how they dont care for the show and now have to wait 2-3 months before something else shows up.

Anonymous

lmfao! george proves a point that its more threatening by making simone shit herself lol. i think walt took the kid as another casualty on him and is finally trying to take responsibility in his own way. if he lost jesse too...

Vellu

Suggestion: Barry (HBO 2018-23), dark comedy, four seasons each containing eight ~30 minute episodes

Happy Hanukkah

I wish to strengthen my bona fides by mentioning that I staked my reputation on Firefly way back when. :-) Heed the words of Happy Hanukkah!

Jeff I.

Yeah, that would be my go-to suggestion. An excellent mix of comedy with some drama, and it won't take as long to finish, since the episodes are shorter. I'd also love Succession someday, of course!

Who Are These People

Westworld Season 1, True Detective Season 2 *edit* Wait, you're already planned out to BB season 4? Well you have to do 5. You will not be able to resist doing 5. The power of BB compels you!

JediLounger

Another suggestion for “the big show”, the very underrated and underrepresented The Americans (2013). Well regarded during its run but has fallen off the face of the earth since it ended. 6 seasons. I’m sure Better Call Saul is going to be the next big show, but perhaps after that.

Late Kate

Idk if it has been recommended or talked about, but I'd love for a big show if you guys did Sopranos.

Chints' Miniature Mistakes

Would love to recommend Queen's Gambit for short show (1 Season) and The Good Place for long show (4 Seasons)

Anonymous

"Small Shows" Lighter: The Good Place (Fun, short episodes, 4 seasons) One Piece (Ongoing, Live action, silly, just watched this and really enjoyed it, 1 season) Heavier: Deadwood (Wire era HBO, Came in second in the poll Ted Lasso won, 3 seasons + movie, my favorite show ever) Severance (Ongoing, Great actors, progressive revelation of how weird the situation actually is, 1 season)

Jeff I.

Ooh yeah, I always forget about Queen's Gambit for some reason. It's so good and only 7 episodes.

Anonymous

If you guys enjoy watching Mike then Better Call Saul is right up your alley. Also, Better Call Saul is a prequel so it doesn't spoil anything that may happen to those characters in Breaking Bad

Actuarial Lurker

Now you get to see the bad ass that Mike is and some backstory AND if you had any doubts Walter is Heisenberg he takes on a Cartel boss directly in Episode 13....

Actuarial Lurker

You need to do El Camino as a Movie sequel to Breaking Bad and as a big show Better Call Saul as the prequel to Breaking Bad

JohnB

I would like to see "Jericho". It was a really good show that only ran 1.3 seasons. I don't think it was well advertised and it didn't get a lot of viewers, but those that did watch it raved about it and fought for it when it was cancelled after the first season. And managed to get the studio to wrap up the story with a short 2nd season. I would also vote for "The Good Place", great show. For once they ended a show when it should rather than stretching it out.

BangDroid

Walt's car is a Pontiac Aztek not a Toyota Prius (a hybrid; a car that makes no sound at night until you're right up next to it). People often mistake it for one due to similar styling especially the rear. The Aztek was such a cool car imo. They never showed it in BB but it comes equipped with a pop out tent in the rear. They whole sporty SUV thing is like the biggest trend for the last decade or so and this was the idea behind the Aztek, before the GM accountants watered it down. It was way ahead of it's time, if only in concept. But it is the perfect car for Walt, being so pragmatic and utilitarian.

Anonymous

Devs on FX could be a fun reaction for a limited series. Cool little sci-fi show from Alex Garland.

BangDroid

I would say it is a spoiler because of how pleasantly surprised everyone who watched it blind was. But it's not a big deal and if it helps motivate them to watching it I say go for it!

Anonymous

That’s not entirely true. BCS overlaps the BB timeline by season 4, and there are countless flash-forwards to the future throughout it. Best to watch the shows in the order they were released.

Who Are These People

Regarding the subject of 'Gus only has two henchmen', I just figured it was show biz efficiency; you have the actors, use them, and also makes it easier for the audience to keep track of who's who. A strange new 'henchmen' now and then would have to be accompanied by Mike or Victor anyway so that we the audience don't get confused about whose team they're on, so since Mike or Victor has to be in the scene anyway, let them do the work.

Jonah Bertorelli

For a new show reccomendation you should check out "attack on titan" I for one am not into anime but I gave in and watched it. AND HOLY SHIT is the story soooooo good it's 4 seasons and like 80 episodes of 30 minute episodes. so you could do 2-3 in a block and 1 season at a time

Martin

Blue Eye Samurai please.

MikeBdrx

My suggestions for new series. Ash Vs Evil, Reacher (staring Alan Ritchson which maybe Batman one day) , The Terminal List ( staring Chris Pratt)

Josh B

It 100% spoils things from the start. Also BCS is in direct conversation with BB the whole time so release order is the way to go.

Anonymous

In G&S's position as first time viewer I couldn't watch another show after that ending. I'd be heading straight into season 4. Not exactly a spoiler: Mike Ehrmantraut is a huge part of Better Call Saul. You'll should do BCS after BB with "El Camino" in between. And if you're looking for another big show, 'Lost' should now be old enough that you two youngsters werent’t spoilered by the cultural zeitgeist.

Actuarial Lurker

Mike's pep talk worked- Walt took a Full Measure on those two street dealers

Actuarial Lurker

Just like "Only Nixon could go to China" to broker peace, only Walt could kill those dealers since Walt knows Gus needs him

Anonymous

My favourite pair of episodes in the whole show. The writing, the acting, the pacing; the driving up of tension, the misleads, and then the release of that tension; even down to the sound design -- phenomenal television. As for why the two drug dealers didn't "hear" Walt approaching till the last seconds: it's all perspective. Simone's right; their focus is on their drug business associate, the associate who already had murderous intent against them, approaching them late at night with an agitated look on his face and a hand on his gun. Notice how dreamlike the sequence feels and how heightened each aspect is. The staggered shots on Jesse's face. The way the cocking of the gun rings out. The sound of the car engine emerges through the mist right at the end because that's when their ears suddenly tune into it, not when it started making sound.

Actuarial Lurker

Brilliant to open episode 13 with a flashback to Walt and Skyler before Walt Jr was born when he is still "Walt" and had dreams right after the end scene of episode 12 where Walt has become a version of Mike...

Jeff I.

Was just thinking about your future TV show poll, and I thought I'd quickly suggest doing the poll with either only shorter miniseries/one season shows or longer multi-season shows, rather than mixing the two types of shows together. Like I would personally do a good but shorter show that you can finish in like a month or so before moving onto a longer one that will take several months to get through. Anyway, just a suggestion! :-)

Kozmo

then i'll like to recommend putting 'White Lotus' HBO on a poll as a small show 2 seasons only 12 episodes in total. Its mainly a comedy, drama with some mystery and its drastically less dark than BB, True Detective, or The Wire.

Florian Geyer

I recommend Cobra Kai and Black Mirror as a long term show. But before Cobra Kai you shoud've watched the Karate Kid movies.

Actuarial Lurker

The Bee Logo is one the barrels of precursor. This is Mike "visiting" Gus' suppler of chemicals for the super lab

Jomero

"At first I wondered why they chose an older man to play this tough guy" (paraphrased). Always fear the man who has lived a very long life in a profession where most people die young. Better Call Saul is a prequel to this series. And we get to see Mike do some of the best Mike things in that series.

Dragonhunter

You also don't expect some crazy old guy who is friends with Jesse coming along and driving you over with a Pontiac Aztek. That was my explanation for it.

Dragonhunter

As far as I understood they want a long running series with a short running series in between each season. Like now with Breaking Bad and Ted Lasso.

Anonymous

I would love to see you to check ouy Mr. Robot! Also, u need to watch Better Call Saul after Breaking Bad!

G P

Recommending Blackadder (start at s2) after BB and BCS

Jay

Highly recommend Black Sails. No show has evoked the feeling of reading a great novel but visualised onto the screen. It's a masterpiece and I have it on my top tier of shows along with the likes of BB and Better Call Saul.

Anonymous

I meant that knowing there's a show that revolves around Saul doesn't spoil the character's fate in BB since BCS is a prequel. George was saying that since there's a show about Saul that means that Saul lives through BB, however your comment just spoiled it so nice job.

Tcrimson05T

Suffice to say......pole or no.....watch Better Call Saul after this series is over. And I'm not normally a spinoff person, but it's worth it.

Jeff K

Goddamn, Jonathan Banks is so fucking good. And I knew as soon as Mike walked into the show, George in particularly would love him given his appreciation for competent people being competent, and there's no one more competent than Mike Ehrmantraut.

Jeff K

Same. Breaking Bad was always my pick as the second best show of all-time, but by the end, BCS bumped it down to third on my list.

China Andronicus

I always feel for Jesse and like this show needs some subtitle of “How Jesse Pinkman’s Life Sucks”. Everything he does makes his life go from bad to worse. He had his very brief bout of villainy where he tried to sell to people in remission but it lasted about two episodes until he met Andrea and realized the kind of damage he could be doing. Then his priority became helping out her family and little brother; he forgot all about dealing. When Tomas gets taken out, we can see his guilt and him getting high because he knows there’s no way he’s surviving the event, whether by the dealers shooting him or Gus executing him later. And then even though Walt temporarily saves him, he’s forced to kill Gale, a man who has never harmed him in any way. Jesse is one of my favorite characters from any show and I always feel so very bad for him.

Jeff K

I'd be down with that. I started watching it, got through most of the first season, but for some reason kinda just forgot about it and then never went back to it. I've been meaning to, so this would be a great excuse to dive back in.

Jeff K

Oh god, your first sentence just made me realize that Jesse is this show's version of Charlie Brown, and Lucy pulling the football equates to the way everyone at every turn just rips away any possibility of happiness. That's also why Aaron Paul is so great in the role though. He plays the "wounded puppy" role better than just about any actor I've ever seen.

Jeff K

They've watched the first Karate Kid for the channel, but I don't believe they ever returned to the sequel, as far as I can tell. I'd love for them to get into Cobra Kai, too.

Jonah Bertorelli

Remember when you said something's going to have to really escalate because you were 3 episodes from the finale. Be careful what you wish for. lol

Adam Wetstein

Im the one that knocks

Florian Geyer

Yeah I hope they come back for the rest of Karate Kid, if theres time inbetween anywhere :D

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

I probably shouldn't have said anything but I think it's too late to delete my original comment lol, sorry about that. I was on the fence but I didn't consider it a spoiler because it happens so early in the story line.

Jeff K

Hey, you're not the only one who's mentioned it either, so at this point, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Anonymous

longer show suggestion - Better Call Saul & Succession; shorter one - The Bear

Josh B

You might want to get someone to check comments for you. There are assholes around saying spoilery things.

Michael

Would love to throw in a recommendation for Person of Interest. The show is 5 seasons. It does a lot of world building and introduces some great characters. The show starts like a crime show case of the week, but evolves into a sci-fi show exploring aspects of artificial intelligence in an information and surveillance age, done so in a way that is slightly ahead of its time.

Anonymous

First comment on Youtube is multiple deliberate spoilers. It's one guy doing it, he's been doing it on many of the videos.

Anonymous

Have you guys watched Uk The Office or Blackadder, short and sweet

Zinphad

I was thinking the same thing regarding The Good Place.

Justin Leone

Good suggestions. Though maybe skip the first season of Blackadder. Not because it's not good. It has some great moments and plenty of charm. But comedically, it's a bit more rough than the rest of the seasons, and has a very different tone that might put people off from continuing.

Justin Leone

The scene in Breaking Bad where Walt first admits to Jesse that his meth is every bit as good as his is mirrored by every skeptical Breaking Bad fan's eventual reaction to Better Call Saul. You can tell that these writers and actors who carried over from Breaking Bad used the first show to hone their craft to absolute perfection.

ra ra rasputin

can you imagine being so pathetic he paid money to be a troll and spoil things.

Anonymous

Beware of a major (impossible to top) spoiler in the comment section of the YouTube video. You should probably block @freeman12349 on your channel, or maybe best of all, don't read YouTube comments at all, because he can just make new, free accounts.

Diiirk706

''''Small'' Show'' idea (but I doubt that at least Simone hasn't seentit, but here goes) : Queen's Gambit ..... Seven eps one and done, poof... Added bonus? It's Freaking phenomenal...

Anonymous

A reaction to Fawlty Towers would make me so happy. Only 12 episodes and funny as hell. 🫵

lovemoose

i'd like to recommend the tv show Lost if neither of you have seen it before

Jeff K

The finale of The Good Place is without question one of the best, most perfect finales I've ever seen. It was hilarious and beautiful and pretty much perfect.

Philipp Roensch

Well that escalated nicely :D Reminder to include episode titles in the discussion, Half Measure and Full Measure came fully around as an answer to each other. And we could discuss for days which character took what. Thanks for the translations again George!

Jeff K

Plus, the dealers are standing like 20 feet off the road. No one would expect a car to suddenly come roaring up off of the street like that. Hell, you hear people revving engines all the time and tearing ass down streets even in quiet neighborhoods, so it's probably par for the course to hear something like that in that neighborhood. Probably just assumed it was Vin Diesel.

Jeff K

The whole concept of trolling and trying to intentionally ruin things for strangers is just bonkers to me. Like, I get it if people accidentally let something slip because they're excited about a movie or show. I've certainly been guilty of that, and I feel guilty every time. But to go out of your way to do it on purpose? That's just fucked, and yeah, as you said... I cannot imagine having so little going on in my life that that's how I get my jollies.

jeendus

nooo please dont take breaks between seasons

Anonymous

If you are looking for suggestions: Once you finish Ted Lasso, stay on Apple TV to watch Severance. Its only one season and you can watch it until Breaking Bad is over. THEN watch Better Call Saul for sure.

Śéáń

Great pair of episodes. Drives home how great a character Mike is, and a really strong season closer. That final scene remains one of the more memorable endings in the show for me, they did a such a good job making you love Gale right before the end. Looking forward to Season 4, it's one I've little memory of compared to the past three, so it'll be fun to rediscover. Now, with that praise out of the way, let me just stretch my fingers so that I can start mass-commenting "wer season 4?" in all caps for a couple weeks under every other post.

Śéáń

Who decides to pay money to ruin the experience like that? I'd almost understand it if it were the public videos, because Internet, but patrons acting like that baffles me. Very frustrating.

Jeff K

It's just like people who pay a monthly Patreon subscription and only ever bitch about the movie and TV show selections. Like... what's the point? Must be nice to just burn money.

Anonymous

Why take a break from Breaking Bad to watch Ted Lasso... There's no way people would rather watch Ted Lasso over Breaking Bad... Insane.

Josh B

Severance is so damn good. Haven't loved a show that much in a while.

ra ra rasputin

if you cant imagine anyone liking something more than the thing you like, then the issue is definitely in you.

Anonymous

Well... one is a worldwide pop culture phenomenon, the other is not even close.

Deadly Ramon

Sucks that you'll postpone reacting to Breaking Bad for another 6 weeks while you switch to another show, but I understand that people have different tastes. Loved your reactions as always, and having George translate what the receptionist was saying is something that none of the other reactors who I follow could ever do. I'm glad that you love Mike. Rest assured that Jonathan Banks reprises his character in Better Call Saul to the point where he might as well share equal billing with Bob Odenkirk. Another actor who you'll see in a recurring role in Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Better Call Saul is the late and great Robert Forster, who you might recognize as the bail bondsman Max Cherry in Jackie Brown.

UNC

Better Call Saul after El Camino and Breaking Bad please! Succession and Better Call Saul would be a great show combo for the future!

Justin Leone

Good recommendation. The 2 seasons (and the third scheduled to follow) are also pretty much completely stand-alone stories, so if you're looking to schedule in a quick single-season show, you're not committed to more than 6 episodes at a time.

Mr TV Eye

I've watched the show so many times, and only now I realized that the real estate guy in the flashback-scene mention "space lasers" - Saul was right after all... :D

Jeff K

@Sa2jhg434 oh god stupid cat etc etc, especially given George and Simone very clearly LOVE Ted Lasso.

ra ra rasputin

Johen no ones arguing which is a better show. thats just opinions. im saying its sad you cant seem to grasp that other people can like other things differ than you.

Zoran24

Mr Robot is a good show, 4 seasons. about 10-13 eps per season. Very underrated show.

akaTheBARON

🖤Just a random gripe about this show. Tiny one. What if Walt's whole thing was he drove an ice cream truck? A former scientist falls on hard times, becomes an ice cream man to make ends meet, gets cancer, THEN has to sell meth, yada yada yada. Everything else (aside from the change from him being a teacher to instead an ice cream man) plays out the same up to this stand off at the end of this episode. Slo-mo, quick cuts, guns being drawn, then you hear very fast but faint ice cream truck music (because that's how the music works on ice cream trucks right? The faster you drive the faster the music plays?) until the last second when they look to their left and the music and engine are fully audible, then BAMMMM! Near-perfect show, and I'm not trying to nitpick but just a missed opportunity I think, that's all. I hope you guys consider adding The Boys Season 3 to a future poll I think was my whole point.

Justin James

Another show to throw into the mix is HBO's "The White Lotus". It has two relatively short seasons (6-7 eps per season) and both are excellent!

Noe Ramirez

Im so happy what Simone said at the end of episode 12 of what Mike was getting at because I agree! Don't try to deal with this in this round about way, just get rid of those dudes for getting Combo and using kids and be done with it. Also I love seeing the reaction of you two at the end because I was in the same boat, I thought for sure Jesse was a goner.

Anonymous

Personally, I'm not too interested in Ted Lasso, so out of curiosity, will you watch 3 episodes at a time? (Hopefully making it just 4 weeks before more Breaking Bad) or just 2? (making it 6 weeks) Also, when the time comes to watch a new shorter series, I hope you'll consider Derry Girls, of which there are 19 episodes.

DinChild

New short series (short series, or short episodes): Blue Eye Samurai, Severance, Barry, The Good Place, BoJack Horseman...to name a few

Paul G

You looked a little confused by Hank's comment about Paul Newman when they were playing cards in the hospital - that's a reference to "The Sting (1973)" which you should absolutely watch. Think Ocean's franchise but classic starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman; great caper film. Regarding shows beyond Breaking Bad and Ted Lasso, I'd love to see you get back to The Mandalorian eventually. Just make sure you watch The Book of Boba Fett first. It's admittedly not the best of the Star Wars series but TBoBF directly ties into The Mandalorian Season 3.

Patrick

Dear other Patrons, Does anyone else watch both videos on the same monitor? I split the screen 70/30 in favor of the original content, but mainly out of convenience since I'm usually on my laptop when viewing.

J. Valentine

Why would you spoil that??? They clearly don't know and would be surprised when they see him there too.

J. Valentine

It's still sucks dude, I would love to see their reactions to that...hopefully people don't spoil more details like that

J. Valentine

People in the comments...stop spoiling minor details of BCS. Any minor detail matters since they are going blind, which makes an even better reaction.

Dan

If you use firefox as a browser, they have a mini-window that stays on top of other windows. I throw Netflix into the small window and full-screen the reaction channel. Makes it easy to sync the feeds, too.

Patrick

Speaking of that potential ADR moment with Gus mostly out of camera, the second he said it...Gus' entire body for once twitched like "I'VE HAD ENOUGH! CHILD!" which is so out of character for him. I loved it so much. Like he could no longer contain the inner rage he tries so hard to keep at bay on a daily basis. Tangent - Walt from a distance and from behind with that heir style and leather jacket...I was like "why is David Duchovney in this episode?"

JBK405

The scene with Mike's speech to Walt in "Half Measures" is, in my opinion, one of the single greatest scenes ever recorded. I've got pros-and-cons about the rest of the series, thoughts about how I liked THIS or thought they should have done THAT differently, but that scene is right on the line of technical PERFECTION. Jonathan Banks' performance, the writing, the cinematography, everything comes together in the exact way it should. I recommended it on other videos already, and comments up above have also said it, but I will again toss out "The Good Place" as a new show to watch. It is shockingly intelligent and heartwarming, and very easy to digest quickly because its episodes are all only TV-half hour in length (so 22-25 minutes) and the seasons are 13/14 episodes long. I was coincidentally pitching it to a friend in real life a few days ago. I did the bit where I said "it gets you here (pointed to my chest) and it gets you here (pointed to my head)". That's how good it is.

Anonymous

The Sopranos

Vwlss Nvwls

It is my opinion that Walt killed the two dealers simply to save Jesse, and no other reason than he cares about Jesse. That final shot with Jesse and Gale is so nerve racking. It feels wrong, but was oh so right, that the writers made us really like Gale right before killing him.

MasterElodin

I really hope you guys dont forget about The Boys Season 3 and/or Gen V. Cant wait to see your reaction to those and you seemed to have loved the first 2 Seasons.

Jeff K

See, I always assumed it was a reference to Newman’s movie The Hustler. Yes, it’s a movie about billiards, but I read it as Hank asking Walt Jr if he was hustling him.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

It’s so cheap to be nice.. as in free! Always seems to be the bargain that never gets seen on the shelves of uh… life lol

Patrick

I loved season 1 and 2 of Westworld, but then it just WILDLY confusing and I lost interest.

Patrick

Probably won't win any poll since most people haven't seen it (that's what happens when a show airs on STARZ) but it is an AMAZING show, and not that long.

Deadly Ramon

I didn’t consider what information I provided a spoiler. Sorry that you disagree.

John

To echo some of the earlier comments, I would suggest the Good Place as a shorter show (22 minute) episodes shorter seasons (A very smart and funny sitcom). I think Person of Interest or Fringe could be interesting longer shows or Mindhunter about the creation of the Behavioral Analysis unit of the FBI

Paul G

Yeah, that's a good point Jeff, you're probably right. I forgot about the Hustler! I was thinking about the train scene from The Sting. Both are great movies!

Anonymous

Big show options: 'Sons of Anarchy', 'The Good Place', 'Peaky Blinders', 'Orange is the New Black'. Small show options: 'Dahmer', 'The Queens Gambit'.

Matt Gwinn

For Big show please put Deadwood on the list

Deadly Ramon

The definition of spoiler that I observe is "a description of an important plot development in a television show, movie, or book which if previously known may reduce surprise or suspense for a first-time viewer or reader." I don't think that what I said qualifies as such.

BangDroid

@Dan Chrome does too, and for youtube right click the video to show that youtube menu, then right click the video again somewhere else and you'll get the normal right-click menu and you can select picture-in-picture.

Travis H

I would LOVE to see them cover Lost, but I would be shocked if they do. I’m also worried that George would get REALLY annoyed with aspects of the show. But if Lost is ever on a poll I’m 100% supporting it.

Justin Leone

If you need any more convincing to watch Better Call Saul (which takes place before Breaking Bad), you should know that it's every bit as much of a Mike spinoff as it is a Saul spinoff.

Logan Kerlee

Babylon 5 has my vote if it winds up on a poll! I love that show so much and I strongly feel that more people should be watching or should have watched it!

Logan Kerlee

Fringe is amazing! The people acting in the show are all beyond excellent and each of episodes are fantastic. Each INDIVIDUAL episode is amazing and they're even better as a whole. I have very strong positive feelings for that show. :)

Logan Kerlee

While I enjoy The Good Place it feels too similar to Ted Lasso, I feel. Perhaps after their next show it would feel right, but right now - I need something different.

Logan Kerlee

Ooh - I love this suggestion! The Americans is a fantastic watch. It's one that keeps the viewers interest while keeping them on their toes. Quality watch, for sure!

Logan Kerlee

Severance is a great one! I'd be alright if they decided to wait until season 2 drops though.

Logan Kerlee

While I don't expect to see this on a poll and even less of it winning - this would be a fantastic watch! I love the show quite a bit. :)

Logan Kerlee

Lost is incredibly fun and WORTH SEEING!! Many on here likely haven't watched it but I doubt that most would resist the urge to spoil things. Either way, it's a brilliant show that's a lot of fun to watch.

Tom M

I suggest any critically acclaimed iconic award winning or nominated show: HBO shows (from current all the way back to Oz) (god I loved Six Feet Under); AMC (BCS, Mad Men); the better Netflix zeitgeist stuff (Queens Gambit, Ozark, Stranger Things), Showtime (Dexter), the prestige stuff from basic cable (Americans comes to mind); maybe some iconic network shows (Lost, Friday Night Lights). All I can think of rn. Actually as I type this, I’d love to see Americans or Homeland. I don’t think you’ve done an espionage genre show. That’s my vote. What I, personally, wouldn’t (re)watch, that I’ve seen some comments recommend: procedurals (including some excellent ones that are like 50/50 story arc/procedure but I don’t think would work well for season-long reactions), anime, British period dramas, and the obscure. Thanks and love the channel :)

Deadly Ramon

Not just that, but the first five minutes or so of each season of Better Call Saul are a BB sequel (with the exception of BCS's final season, which I won't describe any further). The Cinebinge hosts will love every minute.

sarCC

For in between a big drama show: What We Do In The Shadows/Wellington Paranormal. For the next big drama show: Justified or Deadwood.

Anonymous

I would suggest HBO's Rome for a short series (only 2 seasons). Really great drama, and very historically accurate (in terms of set design and general story line)

Ryan Raventhal

The song at the beginning of episode 12 is 'Windy' by The Association from the '60s. Brings back memories. My parents played it all the time in the car when I was a kid lol 🙃🎶

Orphan Crippler

I've watched the series twice and I still don't fully understand half of what's going on.. The writers were just making stuff up on the spot half way through the show which contradicts alot of the earlier seasons and leaves alot of things unanswered

Nathan Jasper

Just wanted to quickly suggest Broadchurch - it's 3 seasons and a brilliant investigation show :) This was a fantastic finale reaction, so excited for the final season of Ted Lasso now!

Pam Nail

Yes, Person of Interest! The seasons are long, but it's so great watching it evolve.

jackthegent

Sopranos for big show

james repka

You guys MUST do Deadwood at some point. It's inevitable. Might as well do it now, get it out of the way... ;)

james repka

Ironic that the Aztek was chosen for the show specifically because it was considered ugly and was never a popular model. The green color was chosen (like Walt's original mustache from season 1) to make him look like even more of a loser.

james repka

When he realizes that Walt has just told Jesse to go after Gale, it is our expectation of his calm confidence that makes his jaw-drop expression so effective! Rarely does anyone get the upper hand on Mike (in fact, this may be the only time in this series and in BCS that he is caught so off guard)

james repka

That said, The Sting turns out to be not a bad movie to watch before you start with Better Call Saul...

james repka

This is a great one to watch. But being reminded of its existence only saddens me that it ended so quickly.

james repka

BB and BCS are great shows for brilliant montages (and they get better over time) and always have great musical cues!

Jeff K

For sure. It’s so crazy to ever see Mike caught off guard because he’s the guy who is always five steps ahead of everyone, so Walt getting the best of him makes that much more of an impact. I assume that’s also why they opened with the scene showing him being incredibly capable, so it makes it that much crazier to see him realize Walt has bested him.

8bitAndy

I'd really like a break from the big show + in between show format tbh, but I know I'm in the minority and I get how loud people can be about you getting through all seasons of their fav show asap. Some shorter shows to throw into the mix... Queen's Gambit, Sherlock, Dead Like Me, Rome. Longer stuff that people would prob love... Sopranos, Lost, Better Call Saul, Deadwood.

Alex Ch

I don’t think Rome is likely, since George has already seen it (and is a fan).

Mark McKeown

+1 for Lost reactions

Pam Nail

Seriously. Casting is a spoiler. If it has anything to do with something they haven't seen, it's a spoiler.

J. Valentine

Just a casual minor spoiler I see...how about we let them discover that themselves?

Jonah Bertorelli

I never expected to watch it let alone like it, but I spoiled some major events in it for myself and they were so damn cool I had to give it a try with one of my favorite reactors being almost half way through it. By the time I caught up I was soo hooked I finished it without the reactor and now am going back to watch along thru the rest. I probably wouldn't have watched it without the spoilers but for the sake of story and emotions that you get through the show I'm so glad I did!

JoeE

Would recommend midnight mass and bojack horseman

Anonymous

Put my 2cents in here... Two shows I think you'll enjoy, 'SOA' (Sons of Anarchy) and Downton Abby.

dieselbeast

Gonna plant the seed for The sopranos assuming at least one of you hasn't watched it before maybe towards the end of the year? Or maybe just one day lol

Anonymous

I'm gonna put this out there-- I would LOVE to see what you two make of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or Arrested Development (assuming you haven't seen either yet).

Anonymous

Can't recommend enough HBO's The Leftovers. It's drama with 3 perfect seasons and it's a beautiful show.

Jeff K

Just started rewatching y'all's reaction to Band of Brothers and it reminds me: Spielberg and Hanks's latest in that "series" is coming out on Friday. Masters of the Air. It's getting rave reviews so far. Might be something to consider. Only nine episodes but, I mean... the pedigree is obvious. (Apple TV Plus, not HBO, unlike BoB and Pacific, just FYI.)

Anonymous

I would like to see a Jenji Kohan show. Either Weeds or Orange is the new black

Anonymous

Damn, now I gotta wait again

Jesse Coombs

Andor was amazing. Really the only new Star Wars thing that I was excited about.

Jesse Coombs

Yeah, it's pretty much the "Albuquerque Trilogy". Watching only Breaking Bad without El Camino and Better Call Saul is like watching only Fellowship of the Rings and stopping there.

Bennett Holleman

Happy for everyone who enjoys Ted Lasso but I can't wait for season 4 of this brilliantly escalating madness.

Jesse Coombs

BoJack Horseman is a masterpiece of a show. I would definitely count that one as a longer one though.

Jesse Coombs

The Sting is amazing. Hopefully they'll check it out. The Hustler (and the sequel "The Color of Money") are great too!

Jesse Coombs

Yeah, I do that too. I found a plug-in for chrome that lets me put the reaction as a picture-in-picture.

Jesse Coombs

There's another Mike monologue in Better Call Saul that is awesome as well.

Jesse Coombs

Yeah, Deadwood would be the top of my list for them to react to. Not many reactors watch it, but it's SOOO rewarding.

Anonymous

The Pacific would be nice for another short series. But it is just as heavy as Breaking Bad. The Bear is also a great choice.

JusteFlo

A short show that doesn't get nearly enough attention and that I would love seeing more people react to is Primal.

BangDroid

Ah yeah, I don't know the directorial intention, just my interpretation. I always thought Walt's original aesthetic was Ned-Flanders-esque lol

Anonymous

@Tenwyn: The only comment in this whole thread that has any spoilers is yours, genius. So if you care about spoilers for them then delete it.

Jeff K

They should absolutely watch The Sting regardless, because it's a goddamn masterpiece.

Anonymous

The series Hannibal with Mads Mikkelsen is pretty good, and it would be interesting to see how you guys react to the different portrayal of the character now that you've seen Anthony Hopkins' iconic performance.

OldBeardedGuyReacts

A few show recommendations: For short shows I would love to see reactions to Severance and Shrinking. For longer shows, it seems almost pointless to go into a long list because the overwhelming urge is going to be to jump immediately into Better Call Saul. However, if you decided that you wanted a different show but with the same "good guy forced to do bad things" feel, I would HIGHLY recommend "Ozark". Literally one of the best shows Netflix ever did.

OldBeardedGuyReacts

Also, in the recent AMA, Simone said something to the effect of "I'm claustrophobic but luckily there's never been a movie about that"...I'm starting a write in campaign to demand a reaction to "The Descent".

Anonymous

I use slightly overlapping windows. That means I seldom see George's big mug but well, sacrifices must be made.

Anonymous

Main casting is the very first thing one sees on IMDB, Wikipedia and movie posters. Cameo roles: of course. But main billing?

Anonymous

Another votes for Rome, Deadwood, Mozart in the Jungle or Halt & Catch Fire for a smaller show inbetween. If you want to go weirder: Kings or Luck. The latter will be bad for Simone, though. And High Maintenance is always great.

Bryce Lamkin

I recommend Son's of Anarchy as s show to watch please, it has 7 seasons

Anonymous

Show recommendations: Blue Eye Samurai (currently 1 season), Severance (only 1 season), Peaky Blinders (long show), Black Sails (long show), The Queens Gambit (standalone 1 season), Ozark (long show), Broadchurch (3 seasons), Deadwood (3 seasons and a movie), The Morning Show (currently 3 seasons), For All Mankind (currently 4 seasons)

Jeff K

If we want her to get horrified from claustrophobia... I mean, the Ryan Reynolds movie "Buried" springs to mind.

Jeff K

Glad I'm not the only Shrinking fan. It took me until the second episode to really get into it, but once I did, I ended up binging the entire season (well, all the episodes that were available at the time, which equated to all but the finale) in a single day. Loved it.

John Richards

I second "The Good Place" as the lighter "small" show. Also, the song "Everyone Knows it's Windy" is a top 40 song from 1967, not something created as Wendy's theme song for the cold open of episode 12.

Jeff K

So when they return to Breaking Bad, or at least when they do the finale, someone needs to get some Dos Hombres mezcal to both George and Simone to be sipping on. (George and Simone: Dos Hombres is the mezcal that Cranston and Paul co-own.)

Dwight Scarn

I highly reccomend doing a YouTube reaction not a patreon reaction to Interview with a vampire show on AMC. Only 7 episodes and its surprisingly very good!

Jay Davis

I never knew and always thought the song was "Wendy". And I just went to wikipedia and saw that Ruthann Friedman (the writer of the song) had written the song about a man. The gender was changed for the band's use.

Simon Kreitner

you should give justified a try. my personal favourite show

Jeff K

Love that show. Olyphant and Goggins are so damn good together.

Onno Smits

Tim Minchin wrote and stars in "Upright" (2019) which is a very short show (8 episodes) that I'm confident you'd both love. And both for very different reasons as well.

Anonymous

Small show recommendation: HBO miniseries The Outsider. Adapted from a great Steven King novel. Stars Jason Bateman, Cynthia Erivo, Ben Mendelsohn. Scary, suspenseful, and great performances, especially Bateman (who also exec produced and directed a few episodes).

Aiden

I was also curious about what meth feels like and I found this graphic comparing dopamine levels between different activities. Enjoying a good meal is around 150% rise in dopamine, weed is 150% too, video games is 170%, alcohol is around 170%, morphine is 190%, sex is 200%, winning a decent bet is 210%, cigarettes are 210%, getting married is around 230%, male organism 240%, cocaine is 325%, female organism is 480% (not fair lol), winning the lottery is 750%, falling in love is around 750%, and meth is a whopping 1300%.

LazyArtist

And now I'm going to watch your reaction to Anchorman for the fourth time. #sanity

Just wanted to give you one of my favorite tv shows to put on a tv poll. The Shield is a great show it’s from 2002. Imo one of the best tv shows

The Film Effect

Deadwood is another incredible HBO show and should be on the list. It stars Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane. It has only three seasons, but it’s one of the greatest shows of all time. It’s still best dialogue I’ve ever heard.

Hexon66

Another perspective could be that Gale signed his own death warrant when he told Gus 'one more cook'. He knew exactly what that entailed. Just looking at the interconnectedness of all things.

Hexon66

Almost totally agree. If it's the dialogue that's the reason for the recommendation, then it's better stated as starring Ian McShane and William Sanderson. If we're being honest, it's Swearengen and Farnum who make that show. And Sol Star as the moral center. Bullock falls way down the list on interesting elements for me, though.

A few show recommendations: Nurse Jackie - Edie Falco is terrific The Big C with Laura Linney Justified is just terrific all around United States of Tara with Toni Collette is also worth considering
