For more Mike Meyers in his prime, check out "So I Married An Axe Murderer". It kinda flopped when it came out but I'm not sure why. It's hilarious. And has one of the best cameos ever put to film with Phil Hartman (Troy McClure) as a deranged tour guide.

Who Are These People

SNL has had a huge effect on comedy movies. Blues Brothers, this one, Coneheads, are among about a dozen movies just based directly on SNL skits, plus the Extended SNL Universe of former SNL cast going on to other things like anything like Anchorman, Shrek, Austin Powers, Three Amigos, Tommy Boy, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Bridesmaids, This is Spinal Tap, stuff by Adam Sandler, Billy Crystal, Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin (frequent host), on and on . There are few names in comedy movies from a period of 30 years from the 80s through the 2000s that do not intersect with SNL.

You guys are too young to get some of the pop cultural references from the early 90s. Wayne's World was a SNL skit.

Yes, Dana Carvey plays drums. Fun fact (?): That's a double-pedal set-up, but it's rigged for Carvey to play it single-pedal. Re: Garth's mouth and demeanor, Carvey has always said he's impersonating his brother.
