That's it! This is the last film we watched last time my dad visited, and the top 5 you guys voted for.  Im hoping he will visit again when the weather goes back above freezing in late Spring and we may do another round of films!

Unfortunately it seems that this is a PAL region copy you’re watching. it gets out of sync pretty quickly and continues to slip. This happened to another reactor I like, Mary Cherry with her copy of the SnyderCut. you need to slow the ENTIRE video down 0.9587231700605393x. I know that sounds crazy but that moves the movie to 24fps instead of 25fps. OR people can rip the video, install VLC and put this into their command line or Run program: “ C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --rate 0.9587231700605393” Then load the reaction. That will sync it. I don’t know if you can like… re-render the video at that speed or whatever but that’s the fix. IF the video is actually at 25fps and not 24. Thanks. Sorry if this sounds like i’m whiny or bitchy or whatever. I just wanted to help.

Glad y'all watched this together. It's an absolute favorite of mine. This movie played a big role in getting me into cooking - which I guess is kinda sad seeing as my Dad also was a restaurateur (mostly before I was born though). I did wonder about the colloquial / english+spanish language humor and how it translate. (its also very wordy so I know that can be difficult subtitled. Specifically, I'm very curious how John Leguizamo calling Bobby Cannavale an "amuse-douche" would translate to Cantonese... 😅

I would love to see your father react to more food/chef/culinary arts films next time he visits you for reactions. Your father had a lot to say about the topic, also easier and less emotionally taxing to watch then war films, at least! The film BIG NIGHT (1996) is considered one of the best of the genre.

Big Night is excellent and should be watched here!

Jon Favreau has a show on Netflix, The Chef Show, where he goes around and cooks with his friends.

This was wonderful. Your dad is great. It was really cool to hear his insights, and George's as well, as two veterans of the restaurant world. Here's the part of my comment where I recommend more chef/foodie movies and TV...

Definitely "Big Night". Oliver Platt is also in this one. It's about an Italian restaurant and the two brothers who run it. Beyond that would be "The Bear", an amazing show about family and cooking and generational trauma. I know that sounds like a lot, but the show is a masterpiece. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention "Midnight Diner", an anthology show about a late night cafe and how food can bring us all together. Even if you guys don't react to these, I hope other patrons check them out.

Oh my gosh, George! This upload was perfect. I really enjoyed watching this! Your dad's great, love his personality and positivity. Watching this was also nice because it opened up my eyes to a sliver of his life and a bit of his work history. :) I know nothing about cooking - so I liked hearing you two talk about it. Great movie, I never watched this before. Thank you for choosing this! :) It was fantastic!

This is great with your dad, but I'd love to see this one with Simone as well. I know that would break protocol, but I feel like it's so heartfelt that it's right up her alley as well.
