The Spotless-Domino is referred to as a Monolith - a solid one piece object - and to Me symbolizes "Mankind Leaps in Intelligence/Knowledge" in Our Evolution... And the Film Won the Oscar for "Best Effects, Special Visual Effects".... And this Film may very well have had an influence on the use of the term "Spaced Out" when Drug Use was said to allow a feeling "Spacey" or "Floating Thru Space"...

Tree of Life has a similar style except there's story then an intermission of sorts with incredible visuals then returns to the story. It's fascinating

Hope you guys do 2010, its more of a standard scifi film but is still good and explains more of whats going on. Also a fun little tidbit on the effects for the film. The part in the beginning with the pen floating next to the seat was done by taping the pen to a piece of glass and then moving the glass around in front of the camera lens to make it look like it was moving around and floating.

Agreed. Caught the movie 20 minutes in during a layover in Toronto. Was seriously impressed with it.
