Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull is widely regarded as a terrible movie and probably Spielberg’s worst.

Hi George, you missed an OMG at 13: 56! On the other hand, at 23:12 you credited SImone with an OMG but she just said "Oh God", so I guess the final count stands. Did you recognize the church location in France at 28:39 and 29:30 of this video - it's in Old Montreal.

“You can’t fake being a doctor” lol sheeeeiiittt. We had a case in the US of a 16yr old boy pretending to be a gynecologist that made national news haha.

Regarding the "whole story is made up" angle, I wonder if that's the story the victims wanted to promote - rather than admit that in all those audacious cons, they all really fell for it. I think that's at least as plausible a reason for the "he made it all up" angle.

You've indirectly reminded me of this old hit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbVifPkbYsk

Spielberg strikes again. It's always great when there's a cops and robbers film that is fun without any violence. The “Robin Hood” thieves steal from entities that can afford it and don't use violence, which gives them a romantic quality we commoners all root for. When Frank worked in the hospital he didn’t actually see patients at any time. It was more of an administrative doctor position that didn't require being a practicing physician. Also, Frank never saw his father again after he ran away. You guys have to watch The Terminal with Tom Hanks. The tone is very similar and Hanks is working with Spielberg again.

This is an absolutely fantastic movie, but George is correct that it's based on a series of baldfaced lies. With regards to what's true and what's false, the truth is that he WAS a conman. Posing as a pilot was one of his most long running schemes. But he was a small-time conman, and his victims were primarily small businesses and private people, not faceless corporations. He never stole nearly as much as he later bragged about, but his victims always felt it more than a big corporation would. There's a haunting quote on his Wikipedia page from an interview with one of his victims about how personal it was, despite the 'low stakes': "He had a key to our front door, it was never recovered. We changed the lock. I fed him. I cooked. I don't trust people as much anymore." He also never passed the bar or worked as a lawyer, or had a position as a doctor with a hospital. He did impersonate a doctor occasionally, but only so that he could go to college campuses and perform "examinations" on the women that he was recruiting for that stewardess program (yes, that is exactly what it sounds like). He told several other debunked stories that were left out of the movie. He claimed he escaped from a Maximum Security Prison, but the FBI has said he was never incarcerated there. Also that he worked as a college professor, but the school has no record of it. Even the idea that he worked for the FBI has been pretty thoroughly debunked, but there's enough wiggle-room that he may actually be a 'consultant' in the sense any former criminal can be consulted with. Definitely not a member or an employee. It seems that he's just changed his con from pretending to be a pilot to pretending to be an INTERESTING conman, and is making money off that.

When the Opening Credits of a Film says "Inspired by True Events" You can figure a goodly amount of the tale is NOT ACCURATE... "Based On" tends to suggest the tale follows mostly TRUSTED FACTS...
