Behind the Scenes - Jade the Bobcat (Patreon)

Development of Jade as a playable character is in full swing! Here's a quick look at some of her new animations. These are still a work in progress so some frames may be added or cleaned up by the time she's ready to play!

Jade is a scrapper, having no formal training in terms of fighting discipline. Instead, she relies on her instincts and quick feline reflexes to bare knuckle a brawl!

Backpack Weapons

Jade will be able to reach into her trusty backpack (When clothed) and pull out a random item, ranging in usefulness. We plan to include a steak, torch, hunting axe, net and other random items, changing Jade's attack properties in the process. You will be able to swing or throw your equipped item and cause different status effects on enemies!

Stern Strutter!

Each playable character in BBS has a unique property to their special button. Where Verge/Gen can Dash and Sprint , Jade will instead be able to enter a defensive stance that can be charged up to unleash a large shockwave upon enemies to knock them back. This is a mechanic that first appeared in the original BBS demo, where you could sacrifice some of your clothing to get  enemies off you.  To make up for her lack of a sprint option, Jades walk speed is much faster than other characters, upgrading to a steady jog!

Sabre Slash!

Jade viciously swipes with her claws for her combo attack! Jade's standard attacks don't pack as much of a punch as other characters, so her quick attacks are best used to soften up enemies. Utilize her backpack items for big bursts of damage to finish them off with style!
