Wow you've got a good eye for faces. I had to IMDB the kid to see that yes, he's the badass suitor kid from HotD. Although did you notice that the Corporal Kimzi, the officer who spots something's wrong and leads the counter-attack, was played by Nick Blood who was Lance Hunter in Agents of SHIELD? (I had to look that one up too, the mousetache fooled me but I knew I knew the voice!) As for popularity - I'm hearing the same thing and it worries me because I want them to make S2! Maybe, hopefully, it's a slow burn. Myabe the should re-title it "Andor: the birth of the rebellion" or something. Shout-out to Nemik. He showed some serious skills before he died. That shot saving Andor, and navigating whilst dealing with crushed insides. NGL I teared up when Vel insists Andor take the manifesto.

No need to worry about Season 2. The show was greenlit from the start as a two season deal.

Yeah, the entirety of the episode was excellent. Visually beautiful. Though I have been loving the slow burn feel of this show, I admit that when I started this episode, I said, “All right, now hopefully this week we get to the damn dam heist.” It was nice that for the most part, the aspects of the heist that was planned in advance went well. It’s the aspects of the heist that they couldn’t really plan for, that caused it to go off the rails some. Sidenote, you asked about was the kid the badass kid from House of the Dragon. Once you asked that, I looked it up and realized, “Oh, yeah! That is that kid!” I didn’t catch that when I first saw the episode. It’s a shame to lose both Taramyn and Gorn. With Nemik, I'll confess you liked him a lot more than I did. Even so, his death was devestating. It is as you said, you can sense a dread that at some point during the heist that Nemik would be killed in the line of fire. Thus, when he doesn’t and is instead killed by a fluke, that got me so livid. I was venting after the episode ended, “They were getting away! They were GONE!! And he gets killed by... What the FUCK?!?!” Upon seeing both his getting crushed, and subsequently his death as a result of that, you were instantly on my mind, and I thought, “Jess is going to be SO fucking mad about this.” Your reaction is pretty much exactly what I thought it would be. Skeen revealing his true nature, though not tremendously surprising, was a bit of a gut-punch. It was satisfying when Cassian killed him, and lead me to say, “You did well, Cassian. He was too much of a piece of shit to be kept alive.” It is as you observed a highlight that Cassian did not expect Vel to believe him about Skeen. Now I'm going to gush about the scene with Mon Mothma because I have a few things to say about that. Start with, her blue ensemble was fabulous. It was beyond wonderful seeing the Senate chamber in live action for the first time in seventeen years. The visual storytelling with this scene was superbly well done. That we see the Senate chamber practically empty, particularly compared to how full of life it was in the era of the Old Republic was haunting. Now it almost carries the feeling of being in a graveyard. And though Mon’s trying to plead her case to the few who are in attendance, many of them are quietly leaving, and or not listening to her, thus driving home just how futile her efforts are proving to be, for the time being. The Emperor isn’t even present. Or if he is, he’s not given any focus, nor is he shown, yet his presence and influence are strongly felt. The whole thing reminds us that the sole purpose of the Senate continuing to be in operation, the only reason they're still intact is because the Emperor allows it. The entire scene felt like a most perfect visual representation of a line from Knights of the Old Republic II, the line being, “He holds it together, and he keeps us all alive, just enough, like rotworms within a dying beast.” On a related subject, this is now another instance where Mon Mothma has mentioned about the Ghormans, which if this show is going to continue to keep up with the grimmer tone that it's had, these repeated mentions of the Ghormans bodes most ominous. Rather fascinating moment at the end seeing Luthen’s reaction to hearing about the heist. Now to the question you raised about Andor’s popularity. From what I've heard, for the most part, this show has been proving to be very well received. Talking about it with my brother, we’re both massively enjoying it. I'm not entirely sure why viewership numbers are on the lower side for both you and other reactors. You mentioned perhaps the algorithm confusing Andor with and/or, it’s an interesting thought, and maybe you’re correct on it. Regardless, I am most enjoying this show and I'm loving sharing the journey with you, Jess.

This is a damn good series. The heist was full of tension, with morals being tested from our 'rebels' during the heist and after as Cassian just point-blank shoots Skeen when he suggests they both run off with the booty. He is in a lose-lose situation though so does 'the right thing' in killing Skeen; as if he goes with him, not only would he have the Empire and Luthen and the rebels hunting him down, he won't be able to sleep wondering if Skeen will come for him too one night. Poor Nemik, the believer, was always going to be the one to go, but with giving Cassian his 'manifesto' perhaps he can inspire him to look at the bigger picture. The visuals were superb, especially as the ship makes its way through 'the Eye' being chased down by TIE's. I felt like I was watching Solo doing his Kessel Run. Mon Mothma seeing those senators with vested interests run off as news of the heist comes in, when she is speaking about trying to alleviate a situation for the Ghorman's, when all the rest - those who bothered to turn up - are more interested in wondering if their own fortunes are safe. 80 million credits though will be a great boost in the coffers for the early rebel movement. The Empire will come back hard now, this has been a spark of rebellion that isn't far off catching fire; and the stakes, and the consequences, will be all the higher now. Can't wait to see where we go next.

On the numbers for the show, I think its a combination of a few things; firstly its going up against House Of The Dragon and Rings Of Power, which are getting a lot of coverage across the media. Secondly it doesn't have the name of Boba Fett or Kenobi to pull the more casual viewers in, and I do think the show has been misnamed. Thirdly, Cassian is not that likeable a character. He doesn't have the charisma of Han Solo, or is cool like a Jedi/Mando/Boba Fett; but that doesn't mean his arc isn't worth watching. There are plenty of instances of lead characters we've had over the years, which aren't likeable, like Tony Soprano, Vic Mackey or Walter White in their respective series; yet they are all critically acclaimed. Finally I think its a bit of Star Wars burn out with some. For whatever reason they didn't like Book Of Boba and Kenobi, and aren't wanting to watch this, especially since it doesn't have blasters and lightsabres every episode. Which is a shame, as so far its the best live action show since Mando. Disney seems to have belief in it, which is the main thing however, so we'll see the whole 24 episodes anyway. However I do think that the likes of the Ahsoka series and The Acolyte next year will both bring in similar numbers to this; whilst Mando season 3 will be another hit.
