While I'm waiting for some more feedback from the last test, I spent the week making a few small adjustments.


First, I added an exhausted state.  When Meridiana uses to much magic, she needs to take a moment to recover.

This effect will last until she's recovered enough.   I plan on the enemies also being able to overexert themselves.  I made animations for them, but I went a little fast, and I'm not really happy at all with them.

Once I redo those animations, I'll add this effect to enemies.

Players may have noticed that enemies disintegrate after Meridiana is "done" with them.  I was able to finish that effect, and learn a great deal about Unreal Engines new Niagara particle system in the meantime!


I also replaced the dash ability with a teleport.  This is how it was originally, and fits the character more.  It also allows me to add a separate dash ability as a spell or attack, that can knock enemies aside.

I spent the rest of my time continuing to work on some stuff for the level, as well as making some quality of life adjustments for myself and the game.


Despite E3, I do have a busy week planned, so I'll see you next Sunday!
