Update 0.46 - Jun (Patreon)

Hello, everyone,

Finally. I was so excited thinking I'd get this update published on the last day of the year, but my family REALLY wanted me to spend time with them over the holidays, so from the 23rd onward I barely had time to use my laptop and work. Hell, they made me cook the Christmas dinner for them the day after I arrived from an 18-hour road trip to visit them in another state.

Anyway, this was the last Tennis Ace update of 2020, ending with a Jun route update. I technically wanted to fit more stuff in it (some minor art assets I got finished) but my laptop isn't cooperating and editing and splicing a bunch of expressions to add into the game would have taken way too long on this machine, so I'll bundle them on the next update. It's just some facial expressions for Jun's parents.

Important disclaimer: In case there is any issue that causes older player saves to stop working, there really is nothing that can be done about that. Sometimes, changes are made to the code that makes some/all old saves stop working and I can't avoid making them at times. If that happens, use the 'Skip to Next Choice' function (alongside Skip Unread if needed) to get to the point where you stopped.

Important disclaimer 2: Specifically for this update, there is the issue that I had to compile it using a different computer than usual. While it *should* be mostly fine, the problem is the way Ren'Py compiles for Android. It requires the creation of a special Android Key that is saved on the Ren'Py folder of your computer. Since that key contains all the metadata for the game and I don't have it on this computer, Ren'Py will basically not recognize it as the same game as previous versions. Because of that, previous save games and gallery information won't be loaded in this version. Not only that, it won't install if you try to tell Android to update the previous Tennis Ace version. You have to instead install it as you would a completely new app in your phone, otherwise it will give you an error message.

PS: There's one scene in this update that, while very wholesome, will show Aki in a way he hasn't been shown before as he's helping Yuuichi. The whole thing is supposed to be very cute, show off (and improve) the bond between the brothers as well as show the vulnerability and helplessness Yuuichi is currently going through. However, because it does show Aki in that kind of situation (it will make sense once you see the scene), creeps might decide they want to latch onto it. I will only say this once: if anyone tries to creep over Aki, I will ban you no questions asked.
