Eva paused as she crossed the threshold. The enchanting sight of a path lit by softly flickering candles had her momentarily rooted to the spot.

Her eyes gleamed as the warm, inviting glow coaxed a smile onto her lips.

Gently, she pushed the door closed behind her, sealing herself within this now figuratively and literally magical place.

As she began to walk along the candlelit path, Eva’s smile remained, never fading. Her heart had already started beating wildly. And the feelings that were filling her entire being the more steps she took forward was just… oh god… almost overwhelmingly surreal.

This moment… this feeling… This must be how the brides felt when they walk down the aisle to marry the man they loves beyond measure, right?

Eva had attended few weddings in the past seven years. And every time, most especially during her friend’s wedding, she had found herself imagining what it would be like to walk in an aisle to reach Gage… what it would be like to stand at the altar with him, to exchange vows in a place as beautiful and heartfelt as this.

Now here she was… She never expected this surprise. She couldn’t even begin to describe all the feelings within her anymore.

When she finally emerged to the open garden and her gaze found him, her feet stopped moving. There he was, in the middle of the open garden, standing in front of the fountain behind him.

The emotions she thought were already at their peak surged within her, unbidden… overwhelming.

God… How could this devil do this to her? How could he stand there looking like the handsomest male in existence and looking at her like he’d been waiting for her forever? How could he… make her so utterly…  happy?

After what felt like a very long while, she finally managed to resume her approach. Her heart was beating a rapid tempo, quickening the nearer she gets to him… to the man who had transformed an ordinary evening into a memory she would cherish forever.

And the moment Eva stepped into the candlelit circle that seemed to hold all the magic of the universe, Gage dropped to one knee and opened a small box before her.

Eva caught her breath, catatonic for a moment until her lips began to quiver due to emotions.

"Eva, my darling… my wife… my one and only love… will you marry me?" Gage's voice filled the air.

And the whole world seemed to halt. Everything blurred into insignificance as her focus narrowed to the man before her and the ring held.

The world seemed to stop. Her vision blurred at she shifted her eyes from him to the ring on his hand.

“Yes…” her voice cracked with emotion. “A million times yes, Gage. I will marry you!”

Gage's smile was so broad and filled with nothing but love and joy, it might have outshone the flickering candles that encircled them.

He slid the ring onto her finger. Then, with a fluid motion, he rose to his feet, lifting her into his arms and twirling her around.

Their laughter mingled as they remained in there, enveloped with happiness and surrounded by the soft glow of countless candles that witnessed that very special moment.

Eva soon leaned in, pressing her forehead gently against Gage's, her smile still radiating pure joy. "I love you so much, Gage Acheron," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion as tears of happiness began to trace paths down her cheeks.

"And I love you, Eva… forever and always…" Gage replied, his own emotions mirroring hers in the quiet space between them.

I can't believe how I am feeling right now… even though you’re already my husband."

"Me too. Should we do this every month?" Gage suggested, the idea sparking in his eyes.

"Proposing to your wife every month?!" Eva's laughter bubbled up at the thought, finding the idea unbelievable yet quite tempting.

"You don’t want that? Hm?"

"I know I’m not the most romantic woman but… who wouldn’t want to experience this again and again?" Eva admitted, her heart was already swelling at the mere thought of repeating such a special moment again and again.

“That’s set then, darling. From now on, I’ll propose to you every month and you can’t stop me," Gage declared with a smirk on his handsome face.

Eva laughed again. "Fine… but don’t overdo it, okay? I’d be fine if my next ring were made of leaves."
