As promised, here's video commentary #3 from Popeye the Sailor: The 1940s, Vol. 2: Rodeo Romeo, which has always been a personal favorite of mine, for just not the sheer brilliant cartoon animation, but because it's just funny

You'll note that this has the original end cue not present on the Blu-Ray release. Not for lack of trying—the track from the 35mm nitrate I tracked down following the notice that Warner Archive needed it was made available to them, but the transfer would've gotten to them after they wanted work on Vol. 2 completed. (Same goes for Fistic Mystic and The Royal Four Flusher.) I wouldn't expect to hear it elsewhere, as when I offered my copy of For Better or Nurse to fix their master, I was given a curt, "[we] don't have interest in revisiting this title." Sorry, I tried! But you "Champions" get to hear it here, at least.

I always found the entire loco weed stuff somewhat disturbing and in bad taste. The sexual imagery of Popeye hallucinating...ugh. But maybe that's just me. Did appreciate your perspective, though, it IS a handsome cartoon. ( But more upsetting than funny.)
