Tried out Clip Studio Paint earlier this week. The timelapse test for this is on my twitter.

It started out because I got pretty mad when the videos I was trying to export as a sped up time-lapse kept failing to actually export. It would just freeze on a random percentage and I tried all the troubleshooting the program's website offered as solutions, nothing worked.

The annoying thing was I wasted so much time just trying to get that thing to work that it was agitating me more and more that I couldn't figure it out.

They recommended that you close all other background programs while exporting, cool, I tried that. Left my computer on for it to do it's thing, hours later, nothing came of it, it would freeze.

Finally say "Screw this."

So I left it to just upload as the original video set on dropbox. A total of over 8 hours of drawing the Miko beach scene.

While those are uploading, I start browsing video editing software. At the back of my mind I'm thinking about the video, was I making this more complicated than it needed to be?

The video had hang time in between me looking for a brush, references, switching layers, a bunch of little things that added time to the video. What if it was just the drawing?

I know I've seen people talking about an art program that offers a time-lapse feature of your file. I couldn't remember it at the time so I just started browsing for art programs and put the video editing software on the back burner.

Partially, I was a little curious what other programs could offer so I picked 5 to try out.

Clip Studio Paint, Krita, ArtRage, InkScape, and Gimp.

So doubling back to the post before this one, I requested some time off back when I managed to land the job, I requested a full week off and I was cleared for it like a month ago. I think mostly because it's wasn't right before or during Thanksgiving or Christmas.

I think they could try and call me in but I'm not going to go in. I don't wanna work for my birthday, and I could use a little time to actually breathe. So I'll be drawing for most of the week. I would like a day to be just a potato.

So yeah, expect to see some stuff in the next day. Check my twitter for wips as they come.
