Progress & Thoughs - 21 (Covid) (Patreon)

Hello there.
I've been focusing on finishing the momentum sprites this last month, so there's not much to show, I want to polish everything for a new Demo, our Publisher, Shades told me there's this NextFest steam thing, so I need a demo to help with the game marketing.

Sliding mechanics+
Added the ability to slow down while sliding for a better and more precise platforming experience. (upgraded sprites in the way)

Momentum sprites.
Making progress with momentum sprites and texturing them.

Back to idle.

Snow.
While doing the momentum sprites, I like to take breaks to work in something else to avoid getting burned by one thing.

Back to idle textured.

Bouncing blocks.
While taking rests from momentum sprites, I had the idea to make some bouncy blocks, it was kinda hard to balance them.

Too much bounce power.
At first I made it so it would make you jump higher and higher, depending of the distance you were from the block, but it was way too broken, and I could see players using this to jump off the map.
It also makes platforming kinda hard, since you don't even know where you have to jump to.

Balanced.
I ended up adding this slimy look to them. And making so you can reduce the bounce by pressing down.
Also added a new jump formula that makes you jump high, but has a limit.

Momentum sprites.
At this point I was already done with momentum sprites, and hell, it looks so cool being able to run around with your sword out. I know it's just something visual, and it took so long to make, but I love it.

Climbing flag sprite upgrade.
While playtesting I noticed the flags you can climb on are not that easy to spot. So I made a more visible one.

Ingame look.
Sadly my whole family got Covid last week+ and I've been unable to do shit since I was feeling like shit myself.

Feeling better + Dwarves.
I've been feeling a bit better so I decided to try and design Dwarves for the game. I tried 2 body types. I'm not used to draw shortstacks, but I'm happy with the results.
