Thank you all so much for being so patient in waiting for this update. Update on the hot water heater: Unfortunately, the problem still persists. The hot water still has an orange tint to it. We tried heating up some cold water just to see what happens, and sure enough...it activated that orange tint. Meaning it was never the water heater; it was the water itself. It's crystal clear when it's cold, but when it heats up, it turns orange-ish and murky. Chances are, either our well wasn't dug deep enough or there's still some junk in our well's water tank. We'll try cleaning out the tank and see if that does anything.

Leslie's pretty freaked out by the water, but from what I've read, it doesn't seem like it has any negative side-effects. We've filtered out any dirt or smell from it, and again, it's crystal clear when cold. Our house is surrounded by wetland, so that seems to be where it's getting the color from. It's safe to drink, and we've been cooking and showering with it with no issue. Leslie's pots and pans haven't even gotten discolored. It seems to be safe. But...well, you don't exactly want to bathe in it. And it's possible it could damage our appliances. So we gotta figure this out.

So, so tired tonight. Going to try to go to bed early. Key word: try. See you on Friday!

I looked it up, and apparently the orange color is just from rust in the heaters anode bars

Sleep well you guys. <3 I hope you figure out the issue. I don't know if you've googled the issue but this post seems to have a lot of good info? https://www.homesteadingtoday.com/threads/well-water-issues-driving-me-insane-changes-colour-when-boiled.495684/

I have a bad feeling about this.

Sorry to hear about your water problems. And that is some red flag stuff directed at Elizabeth.
