This may come as a surprise to some of you. I am preparing a global rebranding of CTR with a new, more user-friendly interface and new features. This is a completely new platform. The code name of the project is HYDRA. One head is good, but several heads are better. This is a direct hint at the possibilities. For now, the project already has a new graphical shell and active monitoring. Before moving forward, I want to hear your wishes. Any.

I would also like to add that the project will support the architecture Zen 3 and newer. APU processors and sTRX. Tentative release date for early access is the end of July. Public release will not be until September at the earliest. Demonstration of the graphical shell will take place at the end of June.

Thank you for being with me.

To be honest, i am still using CO on my dark hero + 5950x , it gives me the best performance. Had the impression the product you are developing hasn't peaked yet but, so far since I joined , besides testing CTR i have not used it at all. I have supported because I want and i have no expectation to be honest , so all good here I am not complaining just pointing the facts .

I think it would be awesome to be able to have multiple tunes. i.e. one for benchmarking and getting high frame rates. Where you can set higher voltages that you would want to run 24/7 but could help you get a few extra fps. Then one for extreme under volting for the lowest CPU temps when mining and then a last one just like the CTR is now which is best for normal every day use. If I want that today, I have to run CTR multiple times which is time consuming.

New features: -Colour coding for the voltages in each profile. What is safe, what is a bad? -Add CPU cooler option for better tuning in CTR -ECO profile: for surfing and/or older games -Automatic memory/RAM tuning? Not sure if this is possible. -Add more monitoring options. Histograms of the temps and voltages. Fixes: -Turn off the notification that CTR is minimized when sending it to the tray. -When opening it from the tray when I double click my nvidia control center is always opening. The problem seems to be when maximizing CTR from the tray the CTR Icon disappears and the next program in the tray is moving one spot and opening as well.

yeah that double clicking of CTR from the tray and accidentally opening another program is a minor annoyance that'd be nice to get fixed :D

Best possible fix would be for CPUs with diferent CPPC and FIT core order, and optimize automatic tunning on it. They are hard to manage and even OB manual tunning doesnt work many times. Also add an updated version of DRAM Calculator to new project and make it work together would be amazing.

Would it be possible to put an adjustable upper limit on "Game Mode"? I run some number crunching software that loads up all cores and the GPU on my 5950x and Game mode doesn't help.

If it contains cb or any other benchmark tool, a history past results (maybe even with the corresponding config). Also a very nice feature would be the option to set ob values for every single core

I would greatly appreciate if this could be done fully automatic. So I don't have to manually change profiles. The super undervolting for lowest Power draw and temperatures when PC is fully idle or just running the mine software for example.

why did my post with suggestions get removed/deleted ?

The Patreon server is very bad today. I can't even read the comments.

Hi, Iwould like to have a Switch to define a target. Do I need more performance or do I want save power?

Same here! I like the tool, I like to support the developer, but I get better results using CO. Other than that, this tool gave me a lot of information and insight on Ryzen Overclock (or should we call it downclock now?) I'm grateful to test this tool!

Just a lil clarification, 3000 series like my 3800x is the Zen 2 series ya? So this new project will be aimed more/only at 5000/zen3 and newer? Not jugging nor disappointed, just wanna make sure I understand right. ♥

most of my buddies are still on Zen2, as well i have a 3600 and a 3950x so any further Zen2 work would be great.

will you keep updating ctr until the official launch of HYDRA? or CTR V23 will be the last one?

elpuertorro

If i have to guess i would say v23 is last or maybe there is a Final public version released as it seems pretty stable, but then again have no clue. lol

From a Hydra I would expect that you can: - undock parts of the main window to have e.g. a very small overlay w/ some critical information - not sure though what info that would be, but I like the possibilities of a HWinfo that you can customize and extend the parts you want, vertically and horizontally. Not sure if there is a framework that can be leveraged to save your valuable time? - The UI today is a bit cumbersome to use/drag around, you can't position it like other standard windows, and some controls (e.g. the OB mid/low/high) I would honestly expect elsewhere on the interface - Sometimes it's hard to overwrite certain values (frequency or OB) - like: try to replace a value of "23" by "-6". I would not expect the program to try and be smart and offer modification to the existing value. I would just enable the control and take all inputs, overwriting the existing value. - Finally, like others said, would be great to fix the tray icon double clicking issue - Profiles are a great thing, and maybe there could be a way to save a configuration (a set of all profiles' values) to a limited amount of "slots". This way you can keep a safe/stable configuration and a couple of alternative play profiles (thinking of the Asus User Profiles doing just that)

I would like to see: - let CTR be aware of stability issues during everyday use, analyse the problem and, for example adjust voltage in profile where crash occured - more intuitive how to load/activate profiles - make clear what is the role of the 'tune'-button, since in v23 you don't use it at all.

Please release a final version of CTR for Zen 2 first!

Anonymous

totally agree, we need a special final version just for Zen 2, a last present for us with the ''old'' CPUs!

Tom DePaolo

How about having vdroop displayed on the front page. That should be an easy one to add.

- compatibility with monitoring software such as: occt, hwinfo, zentimings, etc. OR have monitoring directly built into hydra - detection of best possible soc, vddp, vddg, and ccd voltage for cpu - a single button to activate all profiles so no need to click activate on each profile when using all profiles for hybrid oc - "memory" of previous test results for faster ob/frequency testing with new voltages or after clearing config unless cpu, llc, and soc voltages are changed - separate monitoring window to show frequency, profile, temperature, etc. at all times with ability to "stay on top" - automatic dynamic increase/decrease of ob values and frequency based on information gathered from specific system - adjustable taskbar icon showing current profile in use as well as temps, frequency, and other monitoring tools - full compatibility with windows 11

1usmus

1) I can only guarantee compatibility with monitoring programs that have SMU protection, other programs are dangerous. 2) soc , vddg always constant the other items - already partially implemented ;)

1usmus

Totally agree with you, everything you wrote about will be in the new program.
