It's S&F Extra time! Here's a behind-the-scenes look at what I worked on last month.

In the gallery above, you'll find the final versions of each piece, as well as some "making of" animated GIFs.  And down here, I'll provide some info about each one!

Platformer Series
With our latest batch, I've now drawn 84 pieces for my platformer series! You'll find large versions of the latest 6 in the gallery above.

There is a temptation to get to 100 pieces for this! But I've already included a lot of the obvious choices, as well as a big helping of niche personal favs and obscure historical curiosities. There's an infinite number of playable platform characters still to chose from, but how many of them should actually make the cut? I'm not sure!

Is there anyone you feel is really missing from this line-up?

Dog trio
This commission is a little sad, as it was intended as a memorial for the dog up in the clouds. (You'll find a sketch of this piece up in the gallery.) The commissioner suggested this particular idea for the piece, as they really wanted something with all three of their dogs together. I was happy to oblige... I'm always touched when people think my art is a good way to remember their beloved critters.

I actually get asked to draw memorial pet portraits fairly often! But different people will have very different things in mind for them. Some just want a natural looking portrait, while others really want the symbology of things like clouds or halos and angel wings. On more than one occasion, I have been asked to draw a dog as a force ghost!

Bunsen vs Moose
My latest piece for Bunsen, the social media science dog, features him "stealing a moose's leg". Bunsen loves moose leg bones for chewing! But in this case, they asked me to do a much, much less realistic spin on the idea.

You'll find a full making-of GIF of this piece in the gallery!

New Years Comic
I drew this comic to celebrate the new year! You'll find a full making-of GIF of this piece in the gallery, if you'd like to see how I put a comic page together. As usual, I drew this one on paper but did all the panel borders, colors and lettering in Photoshop.

Star Sapphire transformation
This animated piece was a commission, and boy did I have fun doing it! A cosplaying Alexa gets to do a real magical girl transformation here, into the outfit of DC's Star Sapphire.

Saucy Hippo backers have seen the original version of this piece, but it turned out so cool that I wanted to make a version I could share here, too! So, much like DiC did with Sailor Moon in the 90s, I made some tweaks to create this SFW version. (And unlike DiC, I didn't even have to change anyone's gender or make anyone into someone else's cousin!)

Cheers, everyone!
