It’s been several days without a real status update (here on Patreon) on how the project is going.


As I mentioned three weeks ago, I’m coding the game from zero. Now all the systems I consider basic before proceeding with content creation are done, as well as some others like an automated scene navigation with parallax (which we all love) and a procedural talking animation method.


This last thingy is what I’ve been spending the last days working on, even when I didn’t want to lose much time to launch the demo asap. But it’s important in the long term as I’ve coded the thing in such a way that future modifications will be easy to implement.


In fact, that is the key there: I’m not a professional programmer but one thing I realize is that you should code taking the ‘object oriented’ philosophy very seriously. Otherwise, future development will be hellish, and possibly the ticket to an abandoned project due to unmanageability.


Also, I won’t hide the fact that I’m learning as I go, both in the animation and coding areas. I’ve had some experience from before yeah, but this kind of project is clearly not something you could do without serious commitment and willingness to continually improve yourself.


Unity is no RPGMaker, you know. It’s a great tool to develop games, but even if you use plugins you still need to basically develop your own framework, adapted to you needs and style. Nothing is taken for granted. On the other hand, all what I’m learning and developing could be used for speeding up the development of new chapters and even new future games.


So, this is our way of saying: yes, we’re still working on it. Please, bear with us. :-)
