I wonder if part of Wayne's anger toward his wife in that scene where she came home after he lost their daughter in the Walmart - which I agree was way over the top and self-destructive - has to do with the nature of her outing. She was out drinking with a detective, sussing them out for information about a case, which is also how she first met him. Maybe he thought of this as a "special" memory between the two of them that could seem tarnished if he feels it's something she'd do for other people too. Either way it doesn't justify his response, since it's clear she's nuts about him
