Yes Solji was trying to lose here😅 On Masked Singer there is an unwritten rule that you never sing up beat songs and if you do it's your signal you are trying to get off the show. What made it worse was that Solji danced! NOBODY dances while singing on Masked Singer. She was basically doing everything she could to throw the competition without singing badly, which she would never do. Besides group stuff Solji released a solo last year that did very well. It went #1 on the ballad charts and top five on all the other major charts. On Melon she went #18. She also releases a bunch of OSTs one of them went #1 on the OST chart and #2 on bugs. Right now she's working on a come back and more OSTs.

Yeah, singing an upbeat song on Masked Singer is kind of like a signal that you'd like to lose coz you've got stuff to do (I mean, not always. But when you've won 4 or 5 times in a row, then it is). Sohyang (another absolutely phenomenal singer) did the same thing after winning 6 times. She had schedules to get to, so she performed a rap song from Show me the money called Day Day. Same as this one, it was a really great performance, but the idea is 'I'm not gonna perform a huge powerful ballad, coz I gotta get out of here'.

Yeah she's scary good. She was actually EXID's vocal coach before they asked her to be in the group. EXID's story is crazy and sounds made up if you couldn't actually find proof for everything they said.
