The Patreon RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Community Playday Livestream! (Patreon)

So, this coming Saturday, we'll be livestreaming RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. Except that wasn't ludicrously ambitious enough, so I'm going to turn it into a big Patreon multiplayer playday too, and we can all build a park together, live.

You may currently be confused, as RCT2 doesn't have multiplayer. Fortunately, it now does thanks to the Open RCT2 Project mod, which you can download from https://openrct2.org/ but please note you still need to own the base game - the Mod just enables a few extras like the multiplayer.

This is also going to take a little bit of testing and set-up, so that's what this post is for - this is the submission thread for those who would like to take part, which will be exclusively you guys on Patreon :)

Please bear in mind that you'll need to own RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 to take part, have set up the Mod I linked to above, and ideally you'll have played RCT2 before so you at least vaguely know the interface, so we can build something cool. Don't worry about DLC - as far as I'm aware, base game should be fine, but as the full game with all DLC is ~£7 on Steam, I recommend it anyway. All versions of RCT2 should work with the Mod - Steam, GoG, even old disk versions.

As this is a livestream, it will also run from around 4pm UK-time on this coming Saturday, so you need to be available then.

Another thing that is not strictly a requirement, but very strongly preferred, is you'll need to join the Many A True Nerd Discord server, as we'll be running voicechat through that, so you can all communicate. There is also text chat so you won't need to be in the voicechat constantly, but it would be useful just in case we need to chat about something we're building. There are 17 slots available. This is to allow for a server of 20 people, with 3 spots reserved for myself and 2 staff who are helping me run the server and game due to the complexity of all this. We'll accept more than 17 applications as some people will fail to show up, turn out to be busy, or drop out during the event, so you may get to play even if you don't get in immediately. We'll do our best to prioritise on the day so the first people who apply now get priority, but we can't guarantee it won't be a bit of a lottery.

If you'd like to apply, and all the above works for you, please comment below, confirming your Discord ID, so the staff member handling the server and chat can start building the list - your Discord ID is your username and then a #[4-digit-number] - it appears in the bottom left of Discord while you're logged in.

Anyway, this all sounds horrendously complicated, and I suspect I'm going to die of stress on Saturday.
