Video Retrospectives 1: Sarkeesian Effect: A Measured Response (Patreon)

Happy May, everyone. Society's still shut down here, but at least that gives me time to focus on the RWBY video, and also, the, uh....star wars videos. OH NO
Here's April's bonus video: The first in a series looking back at my older videos, the choices I made, what I learned about them, and what I'd do differently. Think of this as a kind of mix of a bts, an analysis of my old work, and semi-commentary track. It's not much of a commentary track though because this one is so short. I'm a day late getting this up, sorry about that. My producer yelled at me to get it done faster, so the system is working.
I don't show all of the old video in this one, I cut to the parts I most wanted to talk about, so I recommend checking out the original video if you haven't, for context. CW: There are several uncensored N words in the original video from segments featuring Davis Aurini, this is from back before I muted that stuff. They're muted when I replay them in this one.
I tried to do a little more than just react to my old video and tell the story behind the thing properly. As the oldest thing I'm covering in this series, I don't have the source files (in fact I deliberately deleted a lot of them because I was embarrassed with the video it almost turned out to be - you'll see) but in future I'm gonna go more into the editing process and composition on a deeper level. Pretend this is one of those masterclasses only made by me and telling you how to composite an explosion effect into footage of a man falling down in a funny way.
Give me face and beard notes if you have any
I'll give an update on that soonish, hopefully RWBY won't take much longer. I'm at the point where I'm really happy with where the script is going so I can focus more on the video itself and not on continuing to do research in the hopes of not missing anything.
Don't go outside! And if you're going outside because you have to work, take care and I love you
