You're movie reactions always help to cheer me up Cass. And what an excellent movie choice! Some folks have said that this is one of the best movie scripts ever written. I'm not educated enough about movies to know if that's true, but since I absolutely adore this movie, it's something that's stuck in my mind. p,s, I know it sounds so improbable that I hesitate to mention it, but I recently ordered this DVD as well. If you watch the original Jurassic Park movie next, I'll know it's time to buy a lottery ticket :)

I think it'd be worth it to react to the sequels. Part II isn't as good as the original, but it's still pretty fun. Part III is great.

Great reaction, enjoyed watching it and happy you enjoyed the movie. To answer your question: yes the sequels are definitely worth watching. The three movies together form a complete story and you'd be missing out if you don't watch them.

YES Please keep reacting to the rest of the trilogy. one of Biff's goons was Billy Zane, who was the bad guy on the Titanic. and if you do decide to keep watching, keep a look out for a young Frodo. also the next time you're watching Stranger Things, notice Jonathan's homage to Marty falling face first while trying to get his pants on fast. and Robin and Steve talking about this movie while tripping balls is fantastic.

Glad you enjoyed the movie cass and also glad you're OK missed that lovely smile of yours and your wonderful reactions, I saw this movie when it came out in the local cinema in my town its small and only seats 50 but as a kid still seemed big at the time, the choice of snacks was pretty small but they had popcorn at least and coke so all was good, my school friends and I loved every second of it. definitely watch the other two movies the 2nd is my favourite I can't say anything because of spoilers but you enjoyed the first so the second you will enjoy even more

Also, couldn't agree more about the problem with the damsel in distress/rescued by her prince charming (especially from a sexual assault type situation, only to have her fall into his embrace) trope from 80's films. It's utterly ridiculous and all too common from movies of that era. The other one that got way too much play was the protagonist who pines after his unrequited love interest and eventually wins her over with some sketchy, stalker kinda vibe. Oh well, luckily we've moved on from there in our story telling.

I wanna ask you, have you seen one of Brandon Likes Movies' commentaries? He has a blurred version if the movie on screen for the entire runtime. I don't know if it takes mega extra work to do something like that, but it really helps me if I'm not quick enough to sync up. If you want I can send you an example.

One of my favorite movies! Thanks for reacting Cass and yes, please react to the 2 and 3. The whole trilogy is great. I wouldn't wait too long from watching 1 to react to the rest so that it's fresh in your head. I agree with your view on the being saved from a rape/ assault trope. The funny thing is that your favorite character Shay actually mentions this to Tyrion in Game of Thrones when he tells her about when he saved his wife from being raped....

Okay, last comment (Maybe). With how the whole of the McFly family's lives and attitudes were changed because of their fathers attitude towards life, maybe we could watch American History X next. I thought of that at the end. Also, we have a flying train today. Well, a magnetic train

You should definitely check out the other two films in the trilogy. The second movie gives you some really interesting perspectives on the first film- as you can see at the end of the first movie it immediately rolls into the second, so the stories are pretty closely tied together. I won't say any more about that, as I think you should go in with as little knowledge as possible. As for some behind the scenes stuff-- this isn't really BTS, but there are some small details that make these films definitely worth a rewatch. For instance, when Marty originally meets Doc Brown at the mall, it's "Twin Pines Mall," (Doc goes on to explain that he remembers when the whole area was nothing but farm land and old Mr. Peabody lived here), but when Marty goes back in time and crashes at old Peabody's farm, he runs over one of two pine trees as he's escaping. Later, when Marty gets back to the mall in 1985, it's called "Lone Pine Mall." XD Also, Michael J. Fox was the original choice for Marty McFly, but he wasn't actually the original actor to play him. Eric Stoltz was initially hired to play Marty, but after a couple of weeks of shooting, the director and writer asked the studio to let Stoltz go. If I remember correctly, Stoltz was taking the role in a much more serious direction than they intended. Michael J Fox was brought on board, but he was also part of a TV show at the time. So he filmed the show during the day and Back to the Future at night (as much as possible). Fun reaction, hope to see the other films!

This whole trilogy is 100% classic as far as I'm concerned. Also, it's a time travel story that doesn't create a bootstrap paradox (the presence of the "lone pine" means the start and end of the movie are two separate timelines, avoiding this issue), which is actually not that hard to do, but should still be praised considering how common it is. Fun fact: as someone else alluded to, Michael J. Fox filmed his BTTF scenes at night for the most part, as he was starring in the television series Family Ties at the time. According to Fox's autobiography (which is great, especially as an audiobook, read by Fox himself), he thought BTTF was going to turn out like total trash because he was so tired during filming, and thought his acting was compromised. Instead, people know him almost equally for both Family Ties AND Back to the Future.

Now, a bit later - I'm thinking of Cass' thoughts about what if the lightning bolt had passed through Doc, killing him? Assuming the timing allowed for the Time machine to make the leap to the future before disappearing (the way Marty and his siblings had in the photograph)... Doc would have been long gone too, and only Marty would remember him and the alternate past. Really weird... Another weird thing, I was 11 when this movie came out. This year, I'll be the age Marty said he'd be in part II of the movie series. Time sure does fly.

Firstly, let me say this was exactly the movie I needed to watch on Valentine's day. Thank you for joining me in that and watching it with us. You're really amazing, and I'm excited everytime I see one of your reactions! Secondly, let me say that this is one of the greatest trilogies of all time. It's up there with Lord of the Rings, and the classic Star Wars trilogy. This is a really amazing journey you've undertaken, and you most definitely need to see the next two films too!

Hi, new sub here. I'm not sure if you read comments or respond to subscribers, but I've seen a few of your reactions now and I'd like to make some comments. I've enjoyed all reactions. I like your take on the films i've seen, and I'm very happy to see that you actually get something out of them. You take the time to take notes and understand not just the stories, but the characters and their own stories. That's great. You should definitely watch the next two Back to the Future films. I don't consider them quite as good as the first, but they are worth watching. I also think you should watch the following two Matrix films. Don't let anyone tell you they aren't worth watching. They absolutely are. BUT, you should first watch The Animatrix. It's required viewing before seeing The Matrix Reloaded. In Back to the Future, the person near the beginning who told Marty's band they were too loud was Huey Lewis, of Huey Lewis and the News. They did the title song for this film. Yes, the 80s was as awesome as is typically portrayed. The 70s was kind of a dark time. The 80s promised so many amazing changes and technology and music and industry. Coming into 1980 we felt hopeful for a new and exciting future. And yes flying cars. We really thought there would be flying cars. And honestly the 80s did bring us all kinds of amazing technological advances. I'm not sure how you determine what movies you will watch next, but I'd like to suggest a few here: Watchmen (MUST be the director's cut) JAWS Kick-Ass Scott Pilgrim vs The World Deadpool The Abyss (extended edition) The Terminator Star Trek: The Motion Picture (director's cut) I'm a firm believer in that if there is a director's cut or extended edition of a film. THAT is the version that should be watched, as it is most likely closest to how the director intended it to be. And if I am going to take the time to watch a film, why wouldn't I want to watch as much of it as I can? Really enjoying your content so far!
