My goals for next update is to add controller compatibility along with rebinding and a debug menu. I realize now I should have added the debug menu a while ago, it would certainly help with figuring out bugs or circumventing them. The way that it will work is Patrons will have access to it if you enable it in the debug menu, but with the free version you need to beat the "final" boss to unlock it.

Later this month I will release the roadmap for the rest of the year and take any suggestions for what else should be added to it, which I will poll at the beginning of next month.

I've also got an animation in the works, should hopefully be done by the end of the month.

What is the "Final boss" anyway?

With the inclusion of a final boss and an end, i think it would be cool if there were alternative ways to play through the game. Thay could be unlocked after completion. For example: The GreenSlime companion dusent gain xp, thay only gain stats from potions. After beating the game a player could start a new save and choose to follow a similar rule set. Raise the prices of vendors, and make xpBonus lower the cost; this would slow the purchases of potions early on. There could be plenty of alternative play throughs like this. One were you gain stats based on money alone, one were foods the only sorce of stats, a hard mode, the obligatory ng+, and so on. Idk how hard these modes would be to actually implement, but with them being post-game content thay wouldnt need to be balanced that well. Across my multiple fresh starts of the game i frequently try to play a companion focused build. Were i use the catnip fetishist and focus skills that boost companion growth, then i let them do all the fighting. I think it would make a great alternative way to play. Limit the player to 1 teammate, start them with the catnip fetishist and the giant rat, have 50% of your xp & xpMultipliers go to your team, and remove the cap on 'pro teammate' skills. I find Interacting with the game differently to be varry fun. I would love to see systems/modes to support these challenge/alternative play throughs of the game.

I’m about to see what I can possibly break with a turbo controller which obviously wouldn’t be intended to use but I’ll still try anyway lol
