Anonymous

Anonymous

Anonymous

Correction closer to 2:00

Anonymous

Just out of curiosity, do you collect any other old Apple stuff? I recently bought an iMac G3 with the weird hockey-puck ball-mouse.

Anonymous

Everything Thursday night, where I live, I see the notifications pop up from YouTube and Patreon... I pretty much stop everything to watch the videos. Always gives a laugh. Keep up the good content! :D

ChrisFratz

My mom had one that looked similar to that one, except it had coca-cola branding on it.

Anonymous

Oh my god. I had one of these. You're giving me insane flashbacks right now.

Anonymous

aw bless it, it's trying to look like a smol cassette player I think? also woof hearing CompUSA took me right back to the 90s and early 00s

Anonymous

hey congrats on 10,000 patrons! brilliant channel mate, you deserve every single one

Anonymous

10k Patrons congrats, should've used the PKCELL :(

Anonymous

Would be fun to see if it can handle a 1tb card in it! Also getting close to 10k on here, congrats man - that jazz degree really pays for itself!

Anonymous

AAA! Hahaha 🤣

Anonymous

Ahhhhh a new old nugget 10/10

Anonymous

I'm pretty sure that "weird USB" is 4-Pin FireWire, but I could be wrong.

Anonymous

Reminds me of my first player! It was a Yepp YP-64, I think it was by LG. No expandable storage mind you, that's 64MB of pure musical good times and that's your lot. Lucky to get an 11 song album in half decent quality on there. It also puzzlingly came in a 32MB option.

Anonymous

No PKCELL battery in the nugget? Dank, you're slippin'!

Anonymous

Get yourself down to supercheap auto and grab some dashboard wipes, they make decent work of degrading soft rubber finishes

Anonymous

When are you gonna open up the Sexy Speaker OnlyFans I'd simp for her

Anonymous

Im Going To echo this. No Genuine PKCELL? Even tho You said You would?

Anonymous

I actually found my old iPhone 3G recently. Somehow it still worked after something like 7 years in a drawer (just needed a boost from a period correct powerbank i had)

Anonymous

Happy American Thanksgiving! Discovered the channel this week thanks to reddit and was like, yeah, I'd pay for more of this. Is there a dankpods mailing address if you wanted to send some nuggets through the mail?

Anonymous

Also, after last week's recommendation i made probably my best impulse buy ever. A Sony WM-1000XM3 (couldn't afford the XM4 so i got the next best thing)

Anonymous

Congrats on 10k patreons!

Alistair Gammond

The device is suffering from Rubber Reversion, see Mr Mobile on YouTube, he explains it in great detail. :)

Anonymous

I'd love to see a video on FIIOs budget option the M3 Pro, as I've just dug out my 160gb Classic and it's still running brilliant, even the battery. But I will be getting a FIIO M3 Pro at Christmas, was wondering how the two stack up

Anonymous

I love the scream every time you look at the battery haha

Anonymous

Man, I remember back when I was 12 in computer class 15 years ago, some kid asking what was the largest memory unit for computers and the teacher saying "Right now, the gigabyte, but... there's is this something that I've heard called a Terabyte, and it's a thousand times a GB...", that blew my mind for a long while.

Anonymous

Not gonna lie that thing actually looks kinda neat. I love the walkman look of it. Perfectly out of date

Anonymous

I'm more disappointed than I should be that he didn't torture the headphones with the mojo

Anonymous

Another period correct player would be the creative line of "notanipodtm". They had these click wheels that actually spun, but once the little copper tabs that contact the spin sensor wore out navigation became impossible. But with some contact cleaner and rockbox (aftermarket hacked firmware) you could listen to music and play doom on them. Pretty sure I still have 2 if I can figure out a way to ship them to Australia.

Anonymous

At 0:27 Siri gets triggered.

Anonymous

You didn't use a genuine PKCELL AAA!!!! XD

Anonymous

The booklet says XP on it so that means it was made in or after the year the og iPod came out, which I think had like 5 or 10gb.

Anonymous

Not gonna lie, I kinda love this joyless, utilitarian nugget. Very glad that it was spared from the grittening.

Anonymous

I actually think this thing is cute

Anonymous

Well, its at least older than 2012, since that's when CompUSA died

Anonymous

nano touch screen vid when

TheWill A.

Gotta admit i'm glad you didn't destroy this nugget lol

Anonymous

420k subs nice

Anonymous

Despite that absolutely disgusting sticky plastic, I do actually like its weird design.

Anonymous

looks like the cassette player nug you had from one of your other vids do you know if they are related at all?

Anonymous

Wonder if it would have read the 1TB micro sd card?

Anonymous

I genuinely think you have made me both a nugget lover (I already was but was sparked again) and an audiophile. Never could have imagined me saying that

Anonymous

To get rid of the stickyness, rub it with some isopropyl alchol on a paper towel or something. That usually gets rid of the degrading rubberisation that is causing the stickyness.

Anonymous

The rapidly blinking "AFTER SHOW" will never not make me laugh

Anonymous

Off-topic but does anyone remember the video where the sexy speaker turns on Bluetooth mode and he shouts "you know I don't want Bluetooth mode!" cause that pops in my head every time She comes out and I don't remember which vid it was

Anonymous

I can’t wait for him to hit 500k and then a million

oglack

congrats on the dank 420k subs mr dank

Anonymous

CompUSA that brings back memories. Wow that is a bit of a crap nugget.

Anonymous

Just out of curiosity, what is the songs name he plays at 4:50?

Anonymous

The AAA! when pointing out the battery in the box made me spill my morning coffee haha

Steven Tinoco

Should've thrown the pkcell in it

Anonymous

After my laptop broke today and loads of school work has potentially been lost, watching this and the YouTube video has really made my day. This is the only content I pay for on patreon and I am continually entertained by it, thanks for bringing such joy every week

Anonymous

Brand new iPod, nah. Brand new nugg, yes!

Anonymous

This absolutely mint compared to the pink HHGG thumb-shaped mp3 player I bought from BigW for $29 a few years ago. Same goofy headphones, too.

Chewie

looking at the graphs I think the XM3s might actually sound a little nicer than the XM4s - less bassy

ibadgrammar

give me aa back

Anonymous

Something I’d really love to see come out would be a look at a selection of skull candy headphones. They were like my holy grail of headphones when I was in middle school (probably cause I didn’t know any better and thought the bigger the better) and would genuinely love to see you either rip em apart or maybe find some gem that’s worth it in your opinion. I started out with an old pair of Hesh II and eventually got a pair of Crushers (yeah edgy name, right?) hell I still use the crushers to this day and I’m on my 5th year of uni (got them bad boiis in like 7th grade). Please let me know if you’re gonna do this it’d be phenomenal

Anonymous

I love it! it's so cute. The seven segment display is very retro. Shame about the rubber reversion.

Anonymous

i just became a patreon and this is the first video i watched i love it i dont regret becoming a patreon

Anonymous

Not sure if you can get it dauwnOnder but to get rid of Schmutz on old soft touch plastic, you can wipe it off with Scrubbing Bubbles, a mediocre bath room cleaner which does wonders on plastics

Anonymous

Oh man it’s been yonks since I heard someone say yonks.

Anonymous

What are those dingus things he talks about? For the iPod nano he said he doesn't like them but I don't even know what they are.

Anonymous

arr thats when the vegmite meets the toast

Anonymous

Tbh I don't mind the silver and chrome contrast. Not half bad

Anonymous

Obviously the logo is read as "Dated"

Anonymous

can you review more microphones please great video as always

Anonymous

If there isn't printing on the melted rubber you should tear it down and scrub off all the expired rubber so you're left with the bare plastic and can hold it without getting everything sticky.

Anonymous

I like what it looks like. Kinda hipstery

Anonymous

Who ever edits these videos and 🙌 !! My condolences to the Chef!

Anonymous

shouldve used Genuine PKCELL battrees https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/pkcell/pkcell/page/14BC644E-6DF5-4399-B97D-1DC2217012E4

Anonymous

32 MB? I remember days when that was a huge space to carry on your nugget.

Anonymous

I cracked the glass on my iPad 4 a while back, still technically “works” but I’d get glass splinters if I tried to take it out of the case and fix it.

Anonymous

Compusa must be around 2002 the closed here in the u.s around that time. All hail king frank.

Anonymous

Dude you brought out that iPod nano case full of SD cards and I remember using those all the time to put random trinkets in. Honestly missed the days when apple had plastic packaging, Made for great storage.

Anonymous

aww, this nuggets really cute

Anonymous

where can i bought this thing?

Anonymous

This nugget is honestly really cute. Looks like a tiny cassette player

Kadah

This is the sort of MP3 player stores would give away with more expensive purchases. CompUSA was always giving away shit either stupid cheap or free during that era.

Anonymous

"The biggest Companies Make the Worst Crap: A 2 Hour Long Video Essay”

Anonymous

I am really curious as to how many gigs this thing is actually capable of seeing.

Anonymous

Its looks like a super 8 cassette

Anonymous

2gb is its upper limit, beyond that is SDHC territory and that nugget is waaaay too old to support SDHC

Anonymous

Aw it’s actually kinda cute though

Anonymous

I like it actually.

Anonymous

connect the sexy speaker to the mojo amp

Anonymous

Noooooooooooooooo! You wouldn't put a major characters life in danger on a whim! Besides, she's the only female on the show! (Not sure about the Puccells) I was hoping he would rearrange the craigs buttons when the pairs fell out. Probably not worth the afterthought though.

Anonymous

Might seem a little weird, but I actually like the simplicity of it's design. To me it looks classy and understated.

Anonymous

Years ago someone gave me one of these and I couldn't figure out how to put the battery in so I took it apart and I thought it required a AAAA battery(yes those are a thing). It bit me too and I never used it.

Anonymous

I actually had one of these... probably still in a draw somewhere. It was ok for the money.

Anonymous

Oh you use my battery. Nice

Anonymous

use alcohol to remove the rubbery overmould, it deteriorates after a few years...

Anonymous

The imagery on the packaging reminds me of something out of a Bunnings catalog

Anonymous

I kind of like it, it looks like something from the 70s. Very retro.

Anton

I had this exact player, Jaycar sold them locally. Worst thing I ever owned, when the battery got low, rather than it shutting off, it would go "vuzzzzzzzzzzz" at full volume through the headphones. Nasty. It was also made in Chian. (Not a typo)

Anonymous

Is that a "made in china" equivalent of a "made in china" product?

Anonymous

Holy shit your gloves are way too big for your hands :-D It also reminds me of a mini DV tape :-)

Blue Bone Dog

I was just singing "nuuuuuuugg" and scrolled into this

Anonymous

Dank donate that little cable to me 🤣 my old nugget used it and im trying to revive him!
