Something happy after ebays shenanigans

Anonymous

Would you kindly tell us the name of the choons you play while testing the nugget? Ps: It was lovely to see the choccy biccy disc drive return.

Anonymous

Hilarious as always, more than worth the entry fee.

Anonymous

What an emotional rollercoaster from the first vid to the after show and the ending.

Anonymous

The second song included could be a Tropico soundtrack Also, fuck eBay

Anonymous

wath a nuget cant you try rockbox on some nuget ? XD

Anonymous

Well worth my freedom dollar

Anonymous

I feel bad for that sd card :(

Anonymous

WADE MATE, you actually kept the goddamn crumbs under the CD drive plastic??? The joke has gone way too far, I'm calling the authorities you sick man. P.s. Your editing for the eBay episode was absolutely solid, and Frank is a babe.

Anonymous

I have genuinely lost sleep thinking about whether or not you left the crumbs on the disc drive, and you did, and I don’t know if I’m relieved or horrified

Anonymous

Looks like the port on the device was fire wire 800

Anonymous

That connector is 4-pin IEEE 1394, also known as i.LINK, it can also connect to FireWire if i'm correct

Anonymous

Your poor SD card. Although... is that really unexpected when you were trying to insert it into a MMC slot? They’re two different card types after all.

Anonymous

I bloody lost it at the SD card snapping. As sad as it was :((

Anonymous

You should do a video about buying things from eBay alternatives like Rakuten. Not only trash eBay for their trash service, but investigate the ways for other people to actively stop using them entirely.

Anonymous

Give us a 1-Grit Stress Ball!

Anonymous

I’m sorry I laughed way to hard at the SD card breaking.

Anonymous

those look just like the intel nuggetphones LOL

Anonymous

I literally emailed YouTube to ask about my plaque, they flat out told me I didn’t qualify. Then a day later the damn redemption code showed up and I could order one.

Anonymous

what in the absolute fuck. They used a firewire port with a USB connection. Jesus how non-standard can you get.

Anonymous

Not the 16MB SD card!!!! it didn't even get the chance to be Slash n Dashed!

Anonymous

Oh 2001, when spring-release memory slots weren't exactly a standard. But, I'm still morbidly curious wondering how those X-phones are.

Anonymous

Best dollar I ever spent

Anonymous

rip sd card

Anonymous

I named my iPod nugget bc of you

Anonymous

Seeing the Music match logo actually gave me a good amount of nostalgia because my dad use to work there.

Anonymous

Not related to this vid at all, but because of you I've got a gen 2 mini in a gen 1 gold body with a 256gb sd card in it that I named the iPod Mini Pro Max.

Anonymous

the SD Card slot literally made me cringeee :(

Anonymous

I like a nugget that fights back.

Anonymous

I'm like 90% sure that wasn't an SD card slot. I'm pretty sure it was an MMC slot, which explains not only why it stuck in the slot, but why the pins matched. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MultiMediaCard

Anonymous

K@zoo a.k.a SD Card Killer

Anonymous

rip memory card ):

Anonymous

Have you ever tryed ausposts Shop Mate? https://shopmate.auspost.com.au/

Anonymous

You crossed a line Dank the Nugget wanted revenge

Anonymous

A friend had a band called R@l@ T@ny , and it would forever be Rat, Lat, Tatany to me.

Anonymous

Makes me sad thinking how far eBay has fallen. Was such a fun place with a great sense of community in the '90s and early 2000s. Now it's ruined by high fees, heaps of spammy listings, expensive shipping, and the significant chance of getting screwed as a seller. Now I use the site as a last resort if I can't find/sell something locally.

Anonymous

...just saying you forgot to unplug the K@zoo from Windows before shutting down!

Anonymous

Similar but different, haha. The PS3 and plenty of other devices can use both though.

Anonymous

I wanted a pal Sega mega drive to test my multi format CRT so i ordered it from overseas using the ebay global shipping program aaand, it was just the power supply, contacted the seller, they had indeed sent the console. So ebay "misplaced" my mega drive. Theres 120$ that i wont get back :/

Anonymous

I used to get excited when an eBay/Amazon alternative would come along and I'd try my best to support them, but they usually die out in a couple years, and few people use them. And even old reliable Craigslist is dying (and it's long be filled with scams and trash). OfferUp and FaceBook Marketplace looked promising for a minute but they're full of cheapskate morons.

Anonymous

Lots of headphones looked like that in the '90s. I had similar Sony headphones and I liked them. They were comfortable and sounded good to my teenage ears.

Anonymous

This is the best $10 (freedom dollars) I spend every month

Anonymous

You were supposed to put an MMC Card in it, not an SD Card.

Anonymous

It was painful to hear that SD card broke

dankpods

Nah but it's cool cause no more ebay lol. Legit I gotta stop using that place, plenty of local guys with stuff I need and it just means I take more Cashies trips for Patreon vids 👌

dankpods

Pretty wild to be all in on both sides of the coin ie professionally selling iPods and professionally buying from ebay for the channel and how sucky it was in all aspects. Expensive, unreliable and disappointing = ebay.

dankpods

Oh no I might lose those two songs I have no idea what they are 😨

dankpods

I make anything do what I want. But the death rate on this channel is very high...

Anonymous

press f to pay respect for the 16 mb sd card

Anonymous

mmmmm durasmell bat trees

Chewie

ieeeeeeeee 1394 is just the non-branded name & spec. for FireWire (Apples name), i.LINK (Sonys name), but they're all the same standard. This connector is the "mini" connector but I think they're using the connector as a miniature USB port as I think this device actually predates the USB Mini-B connector

Anonymous

1394... Is that a mini FireWire connector used for USB purposes on the catzoo? Weird!

Anonymous

On the topic of the main channel video From the U.K. here I just use cex for all my electronics as it tends to be about the same or cheaper than what people are selling them for on eBay. Ik you have cex in Australia as green ham gaming has used them in videos, is the selection any good on cex Australia because I always find cex to be a good alternative. I’m assuming you’ve probably used cex as you use cash converters too haha. Great video as always!

Anonymous

On topic of not using GSP - there is a way around them. You can use a mail forwarder to ship stuff from America to Australia. It's similar in function to eBay's GSP, but with none of the bad stuff. I bought an iPod Mini 2nd Gen in mint condition (with its box, too) a couple months ago, but the seller didn't ship to my country, so, instead, I used a mail forwarder to get it. Item arrived undamaged, no slash 'n dash, nothing like that. I recommend.

Anonymous

RIP Blue SD card

Anonymous

as son as i get a job i need to pay this man more

Anonymous

A bit of choccy biccy hurt a lot of people

CnP x

Cant believe it came with duracells. Also that thing isnt that bad. It displays the audio quality 128kbps and you can change the EQ settings.

Anonymous

I used to have one of these, except mine was orange. Swapping that for a PSP was quite the upgrade a few years later, and then eventually getting a proper iPod

Anonymous

On the topic of GSP: someone else mentioned using a mail forwarder. I've heard good things about reship.. they charge a few US dollars in fees but they have warehouses in Canada, USA and the UK. I know it's still ebay... but it's not Pitney Bowes...

Anonymous

Hey Dank, really enjoyed your content lately and it’s push me through these stinky times! Your the best.

Anonymous

Cake https://twitter.com/leo08472401/status/1284340969505198080?s=21

Anonymous

Dang, I use GSP all the time (as a buyer) and nothing like this happened to me. But I'm gonna be hella careful from now on. On another note, I suggest you start browsing your local "Facebook Marketplace". You'd be surprised at the LOCAL nuggets you can find there.

Anonymous

Did you contact the ACCC or your state's Fair Trading department? What eBay are doing with approving and then revoking refunds is 100% illegal, and legally you're 100% entitled to a refund for them destroying your packages or unsealing your items if they're sold as sealed

Anonymous

Love the channel! Pouring one out for the poor lil’ 16mb sd card.

Anonymous

Catn't be thatt Batd right??

Anonymous

Just Became A Patreon big fan of your content!

I just got a debit card and this is the first thing I bought. Best dollarydoo I’ve ever spent! Mom’s gonna be pissed tho.

Anonymous

Best DollaryDoo Spent.

Anonymous

Best YouTuber to use my dollarydoo on 😁

Anonymous

It’s probably already been said, it that slot was probably for an MMC card. Same shape as sd, but thinner

Anonymous

Man that eBay video had brought up all the bad memories I have of eBay. I have been on that platform for well over 10 years and sold around $1,000,000 on the platform over 7,000 transactions. My main account MacParts-And-Bits is still top rated seller but I am almost out the door the eBay managed payments is a disaster.

mychemicalbromance

holy shit I had those headphones that were included with this, mine were silver. the little inseets on the side were interchangeable, I had red ones and blue one I would swap out

dankpods

A real shame, if I find a better replacement I will promote them to the moon.

Anonymous

Hey have you tried flash modding some of the iPod competitors? Would be interesting to see what capacities they could handle

dankpods

I want to do some history vids with them first but it's certainly something I'd love to try 👌

knedit knedit

rip ancient SD card :c

Anonymous

was able to shazam both of those tracks somehow

Anonymous

I had one of those when I was a kid, my cousin gave it to me lol

Anonymous

rip in piss, 16 mb sd card

Anonymous

can someone explain how dankpods knows how it feels to put an sd card in a cat?

Anonymous

uhmmmmm gross how he inserts a 15MB SD card into his cat

Anonymous

maybe it plays music idkkk......

Anonymous

it's sticky because rubber reversion happened and that's when rubber gives up and goes home. it's why you can recycle rubber, like tires

Anonymous

So, is that actually a MMC slot instead of SD? The standards were somewhat cross compatible, but MMC's were 1.4m thick, while SDs were 2.1mm. EDIT: Yes- "With MultiMediaCard" is on the front.

Anonymous

You, on K@zoo!

Anonymous

So that's a 4 pin FireWire/IEEE 1394 port... To USB. That's just bizarre, but not that uncommon from what I've seen.

Anonymous

Wait, did you get this new in best buy, or at cashies?

Anonymous

Fuck yeah real kazoos are fun

Anonymous

Those things were decent for a kid in 2001, I had one packed with Sims music. Sure the iPod just came out, but you could chuck this thing at a brick wall and it'd be fine. Not fun to use, but no nuggets were back then...

Anonymous

1 Grit it pls

Anonymous

I had a creative zen player when i was a kid, (first i had a sony discman that skipped all the time walking home). When i got that player i loved the thing to death, im sure its a piece of crap if it was analyzed today. Id love to see the 1 grit treatment on one.

Anonymous

It has a super secret mode when wrapped in the condom. It enables Bluetooth 0.0001 alpha to listen wirelessly

Anonymous

I can't believe you really let that chocolate stay there under the peeling... I hate it and I love it?

Bob Goodrich

I’m always gonna wonder what those songs were. :(

Anonymous

For anyone looking for those two songs, they're "Bugs - About You" and "Francisco Aguabella - Agua De Cuba"

Anonymous

I laughed so hard when the SD card broke. I'm sorry dank.

Anonymous

The connection to the MP3 player is called IEEE 1394 and its an early version of FireWire, Interestingly enough it was actually designed by Apple!

Bob Goodrich

I'm so interested in what those friggin songs were. What would you preload onto a K@zoo?

Anonymous

Seeing the device had its own icon for Windows reminded me that modern toasters often have circuit boards in them, and if you crack one open you can connect it to a PC via USB and it shows a toaster as the device icon.

Anonymous

“Ew gross! It’s like I’m actually putting it inside a cat!” Pardon? 😳

Anonymous

that first song was vibin

Anonymous

OH YOU STICKY NUGGET

Anonymous

i had this nuggie as a nuggie

I Noticed at the top of the Screen There was like Sound Options, It Said flat. Then You said it was Flat sounding, Any chance you Tried Changing It?

Anonymous

I own a brand new, pink, EeePeeCee

Anonymous

Wh@t @ Nugget. I don't like it at @ll

Anonymous

Press @ to pay respects for the sad, untimely death of the 16MB SD card. Also are you sure the slot wasn't for an MMC card? If I recall correctly, MMC and SD were cross-compatible, but MMC cards were slightly thinner.

Anonymous

What is with the @?

Anonymous

They should’ve been careful with the @. K@zoo sounds like Cazzo which is Italian for Fuck.

Anonymous

that was weird i burped and dankpod says: "burb for daddy"

Anonymous

"Ew!! It's like putting it inside a cat!" I nearly snorted my drink. :"D

Anonymous

F in the chat for our fallen Soldier. 16 MB SD card.

Anonymous

Those headphones are just like my favorite headphones from back when I was still listening to cd's in high school. The Sony MDR-G57 S2's! Elegant name, I know. I remember the foam went bad so fast I was robbing other cheap headphones constantly. They sounded great (for the ears of a 16 year old) and they had that white and orange KAPOW factor only popular in the age of JNCO jeans and frosted tips. Still being sold used on ebay. Not cheap for what they are. Plus they have reflectors on the back so you don't get run over in traffic? Thanks for the nostalgia trip, mate.

Anonymous

F for the SD card that was killed by the K@zoo

Anonymous

I would legit watch a gaming channel where they'd just have the controller slapped onto the screen like ya did here

Rhys

"RCA" hasn't existed properly since 1987. The company went backrupt and now the name is used by Chinese companies to sell dishwashers. you know. RCA. The famous dishwasher company.

Anonymous

I think that’s the second iteration of FireWire.

Anonymous

Curse you for getting the x-men theme stuck in my head.

Anonymous

That's what the ribbon thing was for? I just janked them out cause they were annoying. I swear my brain was manufactured by Craig

Andrew Mayo

you could use sound hound (the app) to listen to the songs and tell you what they are

wow this is f@nt@stic, im@gine @ctu@lly pronouncing the n@me of the vid @nd my comment.

Anonymous

Being a vintage phone collector, I IMMEDIATELY knew it was an MMC slot, the second he tried to cram his SD card in. Hard to watch, but I definitely can relate - did this a lot of times during my early phase of collecting phones, before I found out literally NO early 2000s phone ever accepted SD cards!!!

Anonymous

the k@zoo murdered that poor 16MB sd card. rip

Anonymous

Rip that sd card

Anonymous

"its like I'm actually putting it in a cat"

Anonymous

rip sd card

Anonymous

This was actually the model of my first ever MP3 player. Very cool to see again.

Anonymous

bro why would a toaster need a circuit board? Its just an appliance to heat up food

Anonymous

"Is that mini-USB?" Cable clearly shows 1394 (Firewire) lol xP

Anonymous

Rca is owned by thomson, which actually had part in inventing the mp3 format. I used to think musicmatch was kinda crap, but turns out it used the fraunhofer encoder, so it was probably one of the better ones for the time. I'm not sure if you know this, but it's kinda an unwritten rule that if you want windows xp drivers to work, you have to unplug the device while you're installing them, then plug it in after. Does weird stuff otherwise. Rca also did this weird thing called Mp3Pro which nobody ever used.

Anonymous

So… that was an actual FireWire to USB cable? What is going on 😨
