Sometimes when I play test a map, I really wish that I picked different spells for my hero. Or maybe I would like to try a different strategy for the map.

One way to do this is to not use a -load command, lose my items, so that I can use the correct spells. (or you can replay all the maps previously.....)

So should a once-per-map '-retrain' command be allowed for you to re-spec your hero?
Or is picking spells correctly something that insane mode should challenge?

Respeccing in rpgs is probably my most liked feature so I'm always happy to see if exist. If people don't want it for the harder difficulties maybe just disable it there?

in insane: Never, not a chance. People who play insane know this game and should know what's good and bad. No respec there. in normal: Maybe, but it should punish you in some way. Maybe take away one lvl? You can still gain it back quite easily in campaign setting, And maybe set all cooldowns to max to prevent scamming (I can easily imagine sb using this command just to reset cooldown on ult, which depending on hero may be super OP )

I think I agree it should work for anything but insane load codes. Being able to optimize spells for every mission I think could undermine some of the difficulty. Obviously depending on heroes and mission, but arthas for example being able to swap to lvl 3 divine shield for siege missions would be pretty strong. For the other difficulties though I would not mind as it is meant for more casual fun oriented play, so quality of life improvements won't ruin that experience.

I don't know if it's been patched recently or not, but in multiple missions if you press escape really fast to skip the intro mission cutscenes sometimes you can respec your heroes. (not always, but at least 3 missions I've encountered did this.)
