Here he is, the Raccoon's animation debut

The first part of the week was finishing off the fur, the rest of the week has been peppered with loads of little fixes that crop up when a new rig finally starts getting articulated and errors show up, lots of annoyances that eat time.

I decided this week, because of trying out some new things I'd not concentrate on making one thing really polished, instead opting to make a few things and get them rendered so I could get feedback. Things I've not really done to any extent before, fast movement, 'diegetic' camera movement and using colored lights for a more stylistic look.

This coming week I'd like to stick with the theme of 'rough sex' and work on one or two more animations and also refine the ones I've shown off today to do tweaks to the lighting and motion.

Anyway, I hope you like the animations, let me know if there is anything you want me to change, your thoughts on the lighting, camera movement or animation in general.

(note on files, the h264 and h265 video files are identical, the h264 versions are bigger but will play on mostly everything, the h265 are smaller but needs a more up to date player, like VLC)

He's a rude boy.

I hope that otter gets his face crammed in his butt print on that pillow at some point!

It's what was chosen, the characters can be as rough (or gentle) as people want them to be. ^_^

Something about the animation feels off to me. I believe it's mostly in how static the raccoon is moving as he's thrusting in as it feels too... stiff I guess I'd describe it? It doesn't read rough so much as just "fast" but almost like he's just sliding forward. I'd say it has something to do with the curve of his torso not changing, or maybe the way his body is anchored just makes it feel very odd? The hand between the otter's shoulders I don't think is working well either. He's like... trying to impose his weight but not actually putting his weight there to pin the otter so where he's getting this thrusting leverage from is a mystery. Shifting it to the shoulder might help, then you can have more of the thrusting come from the hips potentially? It's a nice animation so far though for your first attempt at faster action for sure. The model looks sweet too. Just the motion is what's not really hitting the mark on this one for me.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, getting this level of feedback is invaluable to me. This week I'll work more on that animation and try to get the feel right, I'm working with about half the frames I normally work with due to the speed and haven't got the movements down yet.
