Hey folks! I'm finally ready to give a try with a live write on fiction.live. I've been talking about it forever, and I came up with a nice low stakes idea to kick it off. I've never done this before (the live part, anyway; I've done a fair bit of writing), but it looks simple enough.

The story I'll be working on is this really stupid idea I came up with this morning, in which a guy tries to coerce a ChatGPT-like program to write stories like the ones they've read on mcstories. The program, ChatMCT, analyzes thousands of stories and does its best to imitate what it's found. It... does not always do a very good job.

The story will (hopefully) be funny more so than hot, but who the heck knows what might happen when the fingers meet the keys. The idea is to play around with mc tropes in the crisp but awkward style of an AI. I have a list of themes already -- prevalence of incest, schools where every student is conveniently 18, story intros exerting copyright and warning off children -- but I'm sure y'all can come up with a ton of tropes that wouldn't have occurred to me. I already have a few chunks written in google docs, which I'll upload while we're getting started to give folks a more thorough sample of what we're about before you tell me how to do it better.

So if you're free and curious, swing by fiction.live and help me make a fun little story. I'll be live at 7 PM Eastern US time this Thursday and will keep at it until we're done or we get bored. If you're not free, don't worry, the story will stay up there so you can check it out on your own time.

This is a first run so I can familiarize myself with the interface. If you have thoughts on the timing, the topic, the story (once there's a story), etc., message me or comment below or go to the story and comment there. Next time, I'll be looking to do a Last Woman Kneeling snippet with Canon meeting the many, many new acquisitions his ladies brought him in last summer's LWK contest, but for now, something silly and fluffy for a tutorial.

See ya then! More to come.
