I really need to get myself ups, or alternatively, a backup computing device.  Ive floated the idea of getting a decent laptop before.  I always worry about hardware failures even tho i havent had a significant one in like 10 years.  

But man, It's super frustrating when Im all in the zone and eager to work only to get cut off by things out of m-

Always best to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. As for suggestions how about some buff ferals? Aleu, Steele, Balto, or Puss in Boots.

Ive been meaning to actually. I know Aleu is on the list, as is Spyro. My muscle based insanity is the perfect opportunity to grind on the quadrapeds. No not like that!

A battery backup is one of those things I've always considered, but never pulled the trigger on. "how often would I need such a thing?" I say. Well, now my muscles are behind!!

Power outages might only happen a couple times outta a year, but that's still frequently enough to make the purchase make sense, when data-loss becomes a possibility! I'd recommend something cheaper to start out with- That'll run your computer for a few minutes, just to make sure that things don't get oofed. Aside from that, it's more cost-effective to get a laptop with a decent battery, 'cause as it turns out, desktop computers are rather more power-hungry, and getting something that'll run one for a while's either going to involve gasoline, or a really big price tag. ... On that note, a gas generator'll run a computer, and essentials for a good long while- And having one on hand's always a good idea in case the power's out for longer than you'd expect.

Yea you may not use it for a couple years. But when you go through a category 5 hurricane and lose power for 15 days it’s useful.

Look, I know all the negatives around this suggestion but hear me out. If I may, I ask for Ash Ketchum, protag of the Pokémon series about to retire, turned into a large, buff Lycanroc. The pokémon is already representing werewolves so it'd be neat to see your take on the idea, any of the three forms is cool, but Midnight Form tends to be the rawr wild werewolf one.
