Hello! I finally finished up the illustration for this month just now. I hope you guys like it. :)

Lately I've been messing around more and more in Corel Painter. The brushes there feel very nice. But I'm continuing to discover new ways of doing things in Photoshop as well. So I'm sort of bouncing between the two programs, unable to make up my mind about where to paint. I try to use the best parts of each program, but who knows, I might end up settling down on just one of them in the end.

Right now I'm really looking forward to the next illustration! At the moment, judging by the poll for the next illustration, it looks like it'll be another close-up shot of Maya, which is fun! I feel like I'm also starting to mentally make sense of a new approach to my workflow, and I'm eager to see if that'll have a noticeable impact on my work. It's hard to explain exactly what I mean, but those of you who have signed up for the work-in-progress tier or higher might be able to see a difference between the early stages of this picture and the next. :) It could of course fail catastrophically, but it's fun to explore new approaches to painting!

Oh my days! It's a fairly safe bet that I'm going to like your painting, but I wasn't expecting to be this impressed! 😄 Starting off, I am in so much love with the colours that you've used in this piece, there's nothing like gorgeous, flowing purple hair to make me happy 💜, combine that with touches of green throughout 💚 and a blue-tinted background for all of the warm skin tones to be accentuated by 💙💛. The contrasts between the purple and the green, the skin tones at the cool-blue as well as the greens are wonderful, especially with how her visible eye stands out, her white/grey shirt too as well as... the mess 😉 also contrast so well with her warm skin tones. I'm especially impressed with the rendering of this painting, her hair is gorgeous with how well it's detailed, with strands of hair overlapping each other, meandering and flowing down, as well as wrapping over and around the forms of her shoulder and lifted breast, the multiple tones of purple throughout and how it shines are delightful 💜. I just love her skin tones too, with the multiple hues throughout, like the reddish tints of her fingers and thumbs, different to all of the other areas of her body. The way you've defined the forms of her body is fantastic, I'm blown away by her hands, the way her fingers bend, the palm of her left hand in particular is brilliant as is how her right thumb and fingers indent into her breast, causing it to squish in such an appealing way 😻. The plane changes of her ribs beneath her breasts look great and her breasts themselves are... wow! That squish is just so good! As well as the way her left breast protrudes forth, still clearly possessing its own weight as the bottom curve hangs low 😍. The clear 3D forms given to her nipples as they're separated from her breasts look marvellous too. Her shirt is beautifully painted as well, I adore the rim lighting around the forms of her shoulders, contrasting with the adjacent core-shadows running along the same area. The folds of her shirt look fantastic, especially above her breasts as the shirt wraps around them, other great details being how the shirt is higher on the side of her risen breast as well as the occlusion shadows where the material still contacts the skin. And to compliment a certain other area of the painting 😅, I do like the reddish-pink tones of the penis, contrasting with the cool-toned background while also being distinct from the more orange tones of her skin. The definition and rendering of the veins and how they wrap around are further testament to the insane level of detail that you put into your work which should absolutely be commended. The "mess" is painted so well too with it's goopy form and how it wraps around her face, tongue, hand and breast, accentuating those areas as it does so, further showing their shapes and contrasted with the warm skin tones. I also like how in some areas is transitions between being quite white and quite transparent. Absolutely sensational work, Calm 😄, I'm clearly a fan, as demonstrated by my ridiculous comment 😅. The more I look, the more I see to compliment, so I need to stop (like the occlusion shadows between her right fingers/hand and breast), brilliant work once again 😍😍😍

Towards the end of making an illustration, after looking at it for hours on end, I often get a little bit unsure if I'm happy with the color palette or not, so I'm happy to hear you enjoy it! The rim lighting on her shoulders and hair was actually something I added pretty late. Her form there used to look a lot more flat in that area before I added it, so I'm glad I did. It's fun to hear you notice all the details I worked to include. Thanks, Ciaran. :)

Maybe somewhere someday! I actually took the time to check, and it's not that expensive to order ones with custom designs on them. So yeah, it is at least on my mind. ;)
