Hey all,

So it's been a bit since I posted here and I wanted to check-in so let's jump in to where things are:

Public Update Revamp v10

In contrast to most of these DevLogs, I'm actually going to take a quick second to talk about the upcoming public Revamp v10 release on March 27. Normally, that public release is the same as the Patreon release but much like the last public release, this one will have one more addition not seen in the Patreon release.

Let's take a second to go all the way back to the end of Chapter 1 of the Revamp. The last scene we see at the closing of Chapter 1 is Zack having some solo time in the shower because he's really backed up from a lot of mixed signals and having no privacy in the room. While the Revamp pics of this scene were a massive upgrade of the original, I really didn't have the animation skill to pull that scene off yet. Fast forward a couple updates later-- now I think this shower scene looks really archaic with the dissolving CGs. Now, I promise the Revamp will not be "revamped" a second time but this scene in particular has bothered me so I'd planned to go back and animate that scene to be on par with some of the newer stuff we've seen. Obviously, the best time to do that is right after an update because I'm normally sitting around waiting to see if something is broken-- it's a great time to try and make new stuff. So the public version of Revamp v10 will have the static CGs of that scene removed and replaced with a 60fps animation (it finally finished rendering sometime this morning after 3 days so it's been some work). 

Ok... now on to Revamp v11 stuff

Writing and CGs

The outlining for Revamp v11 is already finished as I worked on it together with Revamp v10 so we're ahead of the game for this update. I've started copying things into my draft and it's going alright but I'm still on the first scene right now when it comes to CGs. So far I have around 57 pics already rendered and completed and they're already coded in. This first scene looks easy on paper but it turned out to be a bit challenging in the CG department and slowed me down a bit. That being said, after this first scene, I'm expecting a couple subsequent scenes to go relatively quickly. So the short story for now is: I'm bottlenecked but still optimistic.

But basically the bottleneck hasn't given me a lot to show off yet. Most of the pictures I'm working on right now are transition images and they're just not really anything stunning to show off. I really wanted to have some teasers to show off-- and I do have a couple-- but normally I share them as a group so I was kinda waiting until I got more. So my goal is to get through another scene or two then share some. Hopefully I can make it through this stubborn scene today and then I'll get my mojo back. 

However, on another front, in addition to the animation I described above. I also have 2 more animations that I have queued up. They're finished, they just have to render so we will be seeing more subtle animations in Revamp v11. I won't say too much more about those yet because i won't even know what they look like until they render-- soooooo again--- optimistic but i only get excited after something is finished and checked off my list. 

Chapter 5 is pretty big. It was a tough one to split to begin with and there's still a lot of things left to work on with it. It's still very much intimidating to me and I'm hoping that will go away like it usually does after I get a few more scenes done, this first scene has just been slow to create so stick with me. It'll speed up like it always does. ?Chapter 5 has some big moments in it... i just haven't got to them yet so stay tuned  :)

Damn, I only just finished chapter one a week or so back.

I think it gets so much better after Chapter 1. I just started reading it for the first time a week ago and finished all 10 chapters. I'm already on my 3rd run through.
