This TXT comeback for me it’s their best. This soooong is immaculate, amazing. I don’t know but it remind me of big hit label, not hybe. This type of music of sentimental pop, it is what made BTS sooo popular, and I feel the same way about this comeback. I don’t know why I think of I need you, save me era.

Renegade is a good song I liked it also! but I actually prefer his b-sides more and I think it suits Lucas voice better. I hope you could check out his b-sides as well (Crushing On You, Dip it Low) in the future when you have time 🙂

Regarding Lucas everyone had the same opinion about the rap, that it sounds like he is doing an British accent, and it’s sounds weird. I also agree with you he isn’t a good rapper, he its better at talk singing. Some people think this sound would be perfect for Mark, and I agree. Nonetheless I reeeally like the song, it’s an amazing song for me, and the beat it’s amazing. But I agree that Lucas isn’t ready for be a soloist, and the song could have been better. I agree also with other people that other NCT members had to debut before Lucas. My personal opinion is that Lucas is a favorite in SM, so the give him a lot of things. I’m pretty sure that if another member had the controversy he had, SM would have thrown him out of the company without a second opportunity. And im not saying Lucas it’s guilty, because I don’t know. But I think that NCT has a lot of members that are way more talented and they deserved the opportunity. And for Lucas he needs to work/trained harder, just looks isn’t enough

If Sheesh/BABYMONS7ER (the mini album) was their debut, I would be fully satisfied. Which.. well, let me spoil the end of this comment here a bit… 😅😅 In the latest video regarding the tracklist announcement Yang Hyun Suk says he considers this as their official debut and from that moment on YG Ent. has been referring to this mini album and Sheesh as their official debut (to be fair sometimes they add to it something like “as seven members”, but in many articles they just call it “the official debut”) and about Batter Up & Stuck In The Middle they said it was a form of warming up (basically pre-debut songs…). Back to the song and MV! I understand people are saying it is just typical YG song/copy of BLACKPINK, but in comparison to Batter Up (which was kind of like not properly copied Teddy’s style for BLACKPINK) this feels like being inspired by BLACKPINK’s music. It may sound confusing, but for me making it an obvious copy is kind of cheap rather than making it good, although still heavily inspired. But these words I apply only for this as their (proper) debut/debut mini album. As a start I think it is okay not to hide the facts of being the group after BLACKPINK and coming of YG. But for the future I hope they can show us way more, what we know from the Last Evaluation. And now… the rap trio?? I had been waiting for this to happen since the Last Evaluation and it finally happened!! 🥹🥹🫱🏽‍🫲🏾🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 I already liked the RnA (Ruka ‘n’ Asa as a reference to the RNA, which is a part of the DNA and in this case of Baemon’s DNA) and the rap chemistry of them, but with Ahyeon… whatever this trio will be called… it’s fucking lit!! With vocals as well! In Batter Up I felt like their skills were not used enough and although we got Stuck In The Middle, this song shows, why they are in a group like this! Maybe, but really maybe… we still didn’t get Chiquita rapping. Which is not really a thing I need to be satisfied, because I appreciate her being more vocal focused than Lisa, so she is not just “the younger version”, but since Yang Hyun Suk said she started to learn to rap, it got me curious based on the facts how fast she is able to improve (he said it after the final line up announcement, which was recorded at least a year and half ago…). Now why is YG trying to retcon their debut? That even members say in interviews things like: “We had to make it our 'official debut' only once Ahyeon returned to the group,”… “It was only right for us to wait for her.” Obviously BABYMONS7ER/Sheesh is the debut they intended for them. But why did they call Batter Up a debut rather than another pre-debut song as Dream (the one playing at the end of Last Evaluation), right? Well… since it was really likely that BLACKPINK will not renew their contracts, YG needed something to balance that for their stock market. Although the question about BLACKPINK’s contracts was up in the air the whole year, it started to be more frequent after the end of Born Pink Tour (September 2023) and Baemon’s debut was prepared for September 2023 😅😅 But even besides this, there were another key factors. One of them was Ahyeon not being seen since early days of summer, which we now know she wasn’t in a good health condition 😿😿 Which was a problem, because obviously she is the core member, but also YG didn’t want to debut them as 6… after the whole Last Evaluation and Yang Hyun Suk’s speech, so here it all starts… They were basically buying time for Ahyeon… They said: “Debut was postponed to work more on the music”, yet they released then only Batter Up. Also in this case even Yang Hyun Suk’s trial could have played its role, because although I misunderstood the outcome, the announcement of Batter Up being released was made a day after his trial was over… 😅😅 And the reason why they couldn’t just wait for Ahyeon and not release Batter Up and Stuck In The Middle the way they did (no promotions, no hype in any way from their side) was: 1) They had been saying all the time that the talks with BLACKPINK were still happening, which made it even more like they are not renewing, so they needed their debut 2) Some respect to the other members waiting for the debut so much/would have had it postponed again 3) They already tried to buy her time (in case the Yang Hyun Suk’s trial wasn’t the main/only reason…), so from that it is now obvious they just couldn’t tell at all when she might come back And mind you! They knew it would happen! I was thinking back then they might have lied to the public to keep people interested, although they might have known she is gone completely. But then what would be the reason not to promote them? Like from a business point of view even if they lied, it would have made more sense to promote them if there was nothing to wait for + they could have let them debut with that mini album anyway… Someone may say they knew she could come back but it was just unlikely. But even in that case… sure “it’s good to keep the doors open”, but not promoting the group anyhow just to “if we are lucky, Ahyeon could comeback”… that doesn’t make sense for the business plan. So they had to know she would come back and they were simply in a situation they had to buy her as much time as she needed. Although by the time of Stuck In The Middle was announced they knew she was coming back, because the “Ahyeon’s back announcement” was released really soon after Stuck In The Middle announcement video (actually right in between these announcements a final announcement of BLACKPINK not renewing solo contracts was made 😅😅 so they were really balancing those informations from both sides (before and after)…). But back in November she had been inactive for about six months already, so it seemed it would take a lot of time. So because of that it would have been funny if Baemon released like up to 5 digital singles and nothing of that was called a debut 😬😅 So that’s why they called Batter Up a debut, because they thought they would be releasing only digital singles for some time, but she came back soon enough, so they only used (possibly already recorded as 6 members) Stuck In The Middle to hype the upcoming mini album up, since it was a pre-release to that, but also to have something to balance the BLACKPINK situation. Personally, I am not a fan of retcons in general and to be fair not even of the idea of Kpop bending the meaning of the word “debut” and calling something a “pre-debut”, although by the meaning of debut it should be a debut and no “pre-debut”. But here it is obvious that if it wasn’t for the circumstances around, they would have debuted them all together with Sheesh and the whole BABYMONS7ER too and no “soft debut” in the form of Batter Up would have happened… So in this case I don’t mind it, although I was thinking about this to happen the whole time since Ahyeon was said to be back and I didn’t really like this idea at first. But now looking at it back, it feels understandable. I’m done 🙃 In case you would be listening to the mini album on your own (no listening party), my favorite track is Like That!! I mean, I didn’t think anything could surpass Dream, but it did! It’s a song by Charlie Puth and I want them to stick to this sound and I want him to be their producer 😆😆 Like That should have been the second title track here, the Whistle to Boombayah!! Like… that (😎😎) would have blown me away!! That’s all, thanks to anyone who made it down here 😅🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

I only watched TXT and Lucas. I love the song and MV for Deja Vu, and I feel thwt TXT (and the company) just makes the music the6 want and don't follow trends. Love the mini album but I swear they just came back. As far as Lucas, it was okay. Nothing great but it was definitely an SM song. I was just perplexed at the mouse/rat part. I don't get but I don't think I need to and it just made me think of The Witches (that movie haunted me as a child). Thanks for the release and just keep working on yourself and moving forward.

Plus the unfairness to other ex-(upcoming/basically being)NCT members. Shohei was said to be soloist as he was the only one of the three new upcoming members, who was not transfered to Riize. But SM is radio silent about him. (I know they said he couldn’t debut even with Riize, because of health reasons, but there has not been any update on that… + it kind of felt like he was already “too old”, so SM decided to exclude him). And then SeungHan being caught while being with his girlfriend led to being completed deleted everything related to Riize and being on “indefinite hiatus”… like… at least let him go… what’s the point of keeping him there until the contract is over?? I guess they just think they can gain money from Lucas… If I should take a look on that ONLY through this perspective, I would focus his career only on modeling…

SMOOTHIEEE. I loved this song on first listen. Pretty sure a good majority of the fandom didn't like it much, though LOL. But, the rest of the album is an absolute masterpiece, and I think most nctzens agree with that. It's arguably their most cohesive mini album. Yep, I agree regarding rap style that was chosen for Luxas debut song, but the whole song itself very good and Plan B is my favorite version ♡ Also , I'm nctzen and I love Lucas. So for me he is definitely not in NCT anymore , he is a soloist, he has his own path now. It is and will be hard for him to return back to the industry and I can feel this kind of nervousness and lack of confidence that he is having now. But for a debut it's a very good start, new chapter. Regarding solo of the other members of NCT, they will have it whenever they feel they are ready for it and it's not only about permissions from SM. And also Lucas and NCT are in different SM production centers. So their teams, timelines are completely different and do not depend on each other.

I think what you said in Lucas' part is a little bit biased. I think the representation of a rat is the way people see him after the scandal (which I didn't find any information about him being convicted, only accused). Besides that, he would have had either started smoking and having a girlfriend at the age of 15 because he joined SM in 2015 (I don't think SM would have debuted him if they found out about a trainee doing that, or it's really bad work from the label). What I think he is trying to say is that people have an opinion way too fast before really investigating what is going on. I'm not saying he is innocent, but I think it is likely that people could have wanted to take his fame from him (look at people like Seunghan, Hyunjin, Woojin, Jinni, Sujin and many more). SM was also really fast putting him on hiatus before really investigating all of it. I feel like part of it might be true, but not to the extend people make it look like. Feel free to disagree with me, I like me some debating.

TXT: Listen to Deja Vu with headphones on with the bass ALL the way up, it's an outer body experience to say the least! Lucas: I FUCKING LOVE Lucas and the guts it took for him to come out with a solo debut fresh out of a scandal like he had to go through! I usually dont care about a scandal, my opinion of idols are purely what they show on stage. However, this time I have to because it's literally his whole debut! What other idol has ever come out like this? I fully support him and can't wait to see where he goes from here! Side note: his rapping is basically a combo of Taeyoung, Mark, and YangYang! At least I can hear all of their influences in his voice when he raps. NCT Dream: my brain at 2am is Jisung Smoothie smoothie smoothie smoothie smoothie smoothie.....that is all. Day6: I had a big argument with my friend over the title of their new album Fourever. She says it's petty and jab at Jae, I think it's bold for them and basically a shut up to all the people still giving them shit over Jae. It's their promise to us that they're still very much Day6 even with just 4 members. I love it so much! Its so totally Day6 and gives me all the feels and nostalgia! I dont know what it is about them that just gives off so much nostalgia with every single song!! The whole album is so freaking good! I'll be waiting for your listening party for this album because you NEED to hear it!

Interesting! Well, I think it’s a multi-unbiased and biased view. Half and half? I don’t remember what the accusations against Lucas were, but I remember not being OK with it. I didn’t hate the man, that’s not really my vibe, but I was against it personally. Now I personally didn’t read up again on it, to not further have this whole political confusion in my head, but I do still think that relative bias of initially being against it, is still with me and resonates on a subconscious level. But I do stand by this—he worked better in doses. I dig the song A LOT, but his pronunciation is strange, for example “rookies” sounds like “wookies”. As just a rap fan, I’m not a fan and have never been a fan of SUPER slurred rapping. If you were to say the pronunciation of rap is a spectrum, slurring being on one end, and articulation on the other, I am heavily biased towards super articulate rapping (Changbin, B.I, Mark) but I have a special soft spot for a good mix of slurring and articulation (Taeyong, BOBBY, T.O.P) Lucas seems to just be in a pure “slurring rapping” range? More like he’s chasing the beat rather than being on time or ahead of it/playing with it. I’ll be diving back into reading up on the Lucas stuff and checking out the docu on my own, and give a deeper and personal view on the matter in the Kulture Study podcast. I am inclined to directly look at the Seunghan and Lucas situation, but at the same time, I believe these two have been relatively treated the same? Lucas was put on an indefinite hiatus for a WHILE, and then ultimately removed from the overall NCT/WAYV brand. But if I recall, there was a weird limbo period where we didn’t know much? Which is what seems to be going on with Seunghan? I’m not up on all this so I’ll be reading up soon. But I think he either works better in doses, or I just really don’t like his lip syncing in Plan A. Plan B, when watching, the slurring and his rapping is way more digestible and even exciting, WHEN coupled with his performance. His performance and dancing was even more impressive than I had remembered of him. So a dive into his live performances of his songs is something I’m considering to further expand my views on the song/debut!

Or is it because the MV throws people off too much? MVs play a huge role in how one “perceives” the quality of a song sometimes. But honestly? I… Once I accepted Chewing Gum was a MASTERPIECE? All bets were off. Honestly, ISTJ is WEIRD af too, so is Hot Sauce if you think about it! They do the WEIRDEST title tracks sometimes but I’m seeing the thread and I personally think it’s very experimental as opposed to just being “weird” K-Pop and I love it. Like I LOVEEEEE ISTJ but didn’t realize how much I loved it—till after the MV.

I feel you when you say you don't like his rap style, it's not my favourite either and the beat and the topline are bangers. The thing is that people might react before knowing the truth. Not to trashtalk you, but people also thought you only had the patreon because you were greedy for money when you stopped reacting. But there was way more behind that as well, people tend to take an opinion or something that isn't validated and interpret it as the truth. That is just humane, but it isn't really ethical. Like I said, he might be guilty, but it isn't proven. I especially added Woojin because I also went with the bullying accusations, but that never happened. I feel pretty guilty putting a verdict on someone that just made a choice to persue a different direction. In fact, 5 years after it happened, Woojin apologized again a few weeks ago, because he wants people to like him again, but he didn't do anything. People just took Chan's words the wrong way, "If you betray the people you love" didn't mean he did bad things to them, he just left during preparations of Cle: Levanter and besides that, it also meant that Chan couldn't keep his promise of protecting everyone he loved. I think there should be a clear verdict on someone who is accused of something and during that time, let the people just continue their work until proven guilty. (Now I just triggered Taemin in my head)

May I add, SM is known for just avoiding lawsuits and just covering things up. When a scandal popped up from Red Velvet they debuted aespa, when they were in trouble for some sh*t in 2014, they released Shinee's Replay. Now that I think of it, Riize was announced during the time Lucas was removed from WayV.

I know one of my friends got to meet him on tour and he told them that he's much better now and happier and I'm so happy for him! Hopefully I can see him on his next one. He was my bias in Day6, but I still support Day6 with all my heart and Jae equally. Some infos : SF9 recently had a comeback with BIBORA, as well as P1Harmony with Killin it. FNC also recently debuted a new boy group called AMPERS&ONE with Jiho, Kamden and Brian from Boy Planet. Their debut song is On & On and their first comeback is Broken Heart. Outside FNC, YooA had a comeback with Rooftop. Wendy with I wish you Hell. Taeyong had his first comeback with Tap. Outside music release, Yoongi released a Suschwita episode with his friend Yonghwa of CNBlue, which was so interesting.

For TXT, I think you could watch their ‘it’s live’ for this comeback that just came out. It’s in a slight different format and I think it’s called ‘fillin live’ instead. On that note, I think you should also check out TXT’s Tiny Desk Korea for their vocals. I think everyone really pushed the limits of their vocals, ESPECIALLY BEOMGYU- I’ve never heard him sing such notes before and he sounds really good but they all do. I really cannot recommend this more, I feel like their vocals improved so much in this video. There was also another ‘It’s Live’ for Farewell Neverland for more vocal goodness but since it’s a while back, I’m not sure if you have the time to cover it

A bit late 😂 still wanted to comment. u helped me finally realize the type of rapper I’ve always tried to explain Lucas to be just as u said he is a more the talk singer/talk rapper punchline guy as u said. Lucas was one of the “rap position” members who I felt always got handed the basic, bare min “rap verse” apart from Jonnny even to this day still. I’ve always said how I would like to see his skills improve when it comes to his raping. No, he doesn’t need to aim to be the best/one of the best but yeah let’s just start seeing some improvement which I did see especially more on the besides of the project. But I enjoyed the song and had no problems with how he delivered it. Me personally I felt like the tad offbeat was on purpose. also as u said he has a nice singing voice which I’m glad we get to hear more. I mean Lucas himself always spoke about how he trained for singing not raping and in some old not content u could catch him softly singing /harmonizing with the boys and he always sounded decent. Now regarding his scandal idk I’ve always felt like it was super easy to see how bs everything is, especially when it comes to the ”hate” around him now. Like the rumor was for cheating/gaslighting. All these other lies and stuff people try to say was in the rumor were all made up yet so many people blindly believed it/continue to blindly believe which has caused it to stick. I mean there was even a point during the beginning of the situation where they were even saying he dated guys. To have the rumor come out the day before him and Hendery were supposed to drop their unit song…Like the day before was the first fishy move. then the timeline/dates in the whole “rumor report” never added up. & not only that, the person responsible for the whole thing is the main NCT stalker lady. There is plenty of video/picture proof of her always following them/walking right next to them at airports, sitting directly behind them on planes. ..hell there are videos of the staff fully letting her near them. Mind you she is the same stalker Lucas and some wavy members themselves called out on each of their personal bubbles accounts about her constantly following them around (Lucas came with full-picture proof of her following/talking picture of them) he even expressed how she made them uncomfortable. This was months before the rumor came out. Oh yeah let’s not leave how she is still following Lucas around till this day. She posted pictures of him at the airport when he was preparing to come back laughing about it. Now when it comes to the hate around him I’ve always felt it is beyond forced. we had another idol go through the same thing. (Ravn from one) legit the same thing. A cheating/gaslighting rumor came out about him as well which led him to leave his group unfortunately yet u don’t see people treating him how Lucas gets treated (not saying he should, just showcasing how pick and choose the hate is when it comes to Lucas) honestly my personal opinion….people never had a “reason” to hate on him until this whole rumor scandal happened. Now they use this as their “excuse” to act the way they do to him. Yet some of the same people who are online being just evil/racist/ beings are the same ones now spending money to buy his project, traveling to a different country to go to his fan signs, buying his fancail tickets and everything yet…y’all don’t like him like make it make sense. they treaitng him worse than idols who are actual criminals for wayy more serious things...👀☕️
